Just a question for you guys at Biante, Are you going to release a model of the Last to First Larry Perkins/Russell Ingall Holden Commodore VR. That is a must model, i would love to see that made. What do you think??

While we have got the perkins thread happening. Are perkins cars out of the biante picture full stop or is there a chance for some of the older cars.

Are you able to comment, I am a long time Larry fan and would love some of Larry's older cars in particular the Bob Jane VL and the enzed Group C

I look forward to your reply

the perkins/ingall 95 car wouldn't be bad at all burge.
but remember - we don't want another flood of models, especially not the VR/VSs. the perkins ingall is good, but dont then release a perkins single driver car, and an ingall single driver car..... it'll ruin the VRs.

thekid_600 i agreed with you on not releasing single versions for Larry and Russell but just that one car would be great. If biante staggered the release of a few good models in the VR/VS range it wouldn't flood the market. I am unsure why biante are going to release the 1995 Brock/Mezera VR as it didn't even finish the race, in fact neither of the HRT cars that year finished the race as the both had oil pressure problems early on in the race. Another suggection is to bring out the LP/RI 1995 and 1997 cars as a boxed set.

G'day All,

Burge05, are Biante doing the Brock/Mezera VR as part of the Brock Collection? If so, the precedent for 'non-finishing' cars was set with the Moffat collection; they put out the 'Brut 33' XB which only lasted 92 laps at Bathurst.

Biante probably rate the VR as a significant car in Brock's career.

Any other theories out there?

Well ET we agree again

To me it seems the prime word here is "collection"

Whether it be brock, moffat, johnson or Vince Greggory for that matter ( one thrown in for the old sports sedan buffs) it is a
collection.
It does not matter whether the car finished a race or not,
its about a collection of that drivers cars over the years.

Thats my bit.

I would like to see a perkins collection.
Just wondering also as Aussiecollector mentioned, with Classic doing the current cars, can Biante make the previous race cars.

yeah, finishing positions and winning has nothing to do with the making of the car. i guess 95 was the first year brock drove a VR at bathurst..... the 95/97 twin pack perkins/ingall idea is great too. but personally i'd treasure the 95 VR much more than the 97VS. im sure you all know why. :)
just as an aside - i would love to have the 98 lowndes/skaife VT and the 99 richards/murph wynns VT as well in my collection. the latter has a unique colour scheme which would look great in anyone's collection.

since we are on the VR topic, to me the ultimate car would be the one brock retired in, i have the classic carlectables 1:45, key ring, and even the slot car set all in that paint scheme, i think it looks awsome with the red stripe up the side, and as his retiring car, it is a must for the brock collection.

and also on the perkins/ingall topic, wernt the paint jobs on the 95 and 97 cars practically the same? as a two car set, it would just look like two of the same car.

are u referring to the 97 VS chups that brock retired in? biante have that planned after the VR.

also, yeah 95 and 97 perkins/ingall looks pretty much the same, barring the front windscreen banner. it was"Perkins" in 95 and "Holden" in 97. ;)

thekid_600 - I have the signature series(1:43) of the murphy/richards car from CC and yes it looks good in that livery. Would be nice to see Biante do that car as part of the Bathurst Winners.

Well I am just waiting for the Bathurst version of the Perkins Bathurst Castrol Commodore. ................... Please

goldie, as far as i know, biante can't produce the 99 wynns VT because CC already produced it exclusively. which is a shame. because there arent many race car out there with pink and purple on them. it'd look nice in betweeb valvoline, castrols and HRT cars.

thekid_600 - that's a shame! I guess I will have to stick to my 1:43 model.

i've got the 1:18 CC version. lol. looks ok next to the biantes froma distant. But close up...... you wonder if its a holden commodore...... ;)

thekid_600 - yeah I have the Steven Richards 2000 Kmart CC (xmas present) and yeah from a distance they look ok but close up eeewwww.... those rims are disgusting and the wing.
the 1:43's aren't too bad but since last year when biante made the 1:43's in the racing livery WOW... won't touch a CC now.

Just wondered if the announcement of Larry's retirement and Russell's move to Ford next year will affect the release of these models (or the interest in them).

Perhaps Larry (and Russell) might have a special 'Farewell' paintjob for Bathurst which would make for a special model.

i dont think they need a special livery to make it attractive..... remember back in 1997 when Brock had his last drive with skaife? CCs made a model out of that, and now it's worth around $400!! And it's a CC!!!
and ingall may not be driving with perkins..... he may decide to put ingall and richards jnr in the one car. who knows.... so much speculation. :)
