View Full Version : Skaife 2000
I was just changing the cars around in the cabinet and i noticed the Skaife 2000 car has no Shell Championship Series decal on the door, can somebody tell me if there is a reason for this or is this a mistake.
Thanks ANDO.

Yeh i'm confused also. I noticed this awhile ago with my Skaife & Lowndes cars. I'm guessing that it's a mistake, as the only other car that came out was the Bathurst version which has FAI1000 decals on board.Am i correct??

My 2000 skaife & 2000 lowndes are also missing the shell decals.
At the time of release they all were missing the decals I was told.
I heard a rumor that biante couldn't put the decals on due to Mobil complaining.
I would like to hear if admin know the real reason these 2 cars are missing the shell decals above the doors.
Can biante make the decals for these cars for us collectors?
Yeah thanks guy's, the kids have a couple of C/C models in 1/43 and the decals are not on them either. Maybe it was a problem with Mobil, hopefully admin can answer.
Thanks ANDO.

It has nothing to do with Mobil or Shell.
The teams have the say for the final model and (this would apply to CC as well) we make them as they ask.
On the subject on decals on the Bathurst 99 cars of Lowndes/McConville and Skaife/Morris... The FAI1000 sticker has been applied over the top of the Shell sticker on the doors above the 1 and 2. I noticed this when I first bought the models but give it no further thought until the subject of decals was mentioned just recently. You have to hold the model in the correct light to make out the Shell sticker underneath, but its definitely there.
I was wondering if there was an explanation for this.
Is this the way HRT presented their cars for Bathurst that year??
Are they an altered model??
It would be good to hear Admins response to this query.
