I was just wondering where is the best place to get a drivers signature for your models. Personally i disagree with getting signatures on the cars themselves as it makes the car no longer look as real (this is just my opinion)

with my models, i get them signed in the following places;
-1:18 - on the certificate of authenticity (except pre signed eg. Brock series)
-Pre signed - on the brochure
-1:43 - on the top of the perspex box and/or on the certificate
-1:64 - on the card backing behind the perspex box.
these are where i consider the best places to get them signed, anyone else with any ideas on where it is best to get signed?
also, does anyone think signatures increase retail price? i just get mine signed for personal satisfaction and it looks nice too.

Hanging out at the pit exit and the garage area at Barbagello did the trick for me. Also the driver signings in the city were a good opportunity. I managed to get all my certificates signed :)

I had the roof of my Moffat Mustang Signed and the Picture box signed.

If you are going to keep the model get them to personalise the message like I did.

The only problem was that Allan Moffat thought I was going to give the model to my dad as he works for Coca Cola so he wrote Keith instead of James.
Oh well bad luck.
He wrote:

Keith

I hope you enjoy this Coca Cola Mustang
as much as I enjoyed 'The Real Thing'

It still looks good though.

The car looks good with the roof signed as there wasn't a number or anything on it, but it is up to yourself.

Also make sure they sign it in a Black Marker so you can see it quite clearly when on display as I wanted it signed in a Silver Marker but Allan had his trusty Black one on him & said that would look better.

With the Moffat XY you could get it signed on the Backing behing the car, it is a peice of cardboard that can be removed and taken with you.

Just remember that you dont want to be walking around at a race meeting with heaps of models trying to get the drivers to sign them.
Pick the ones that you really want signed & get them done.

Cheers

Tell Us how you got on.

I personally get the roof of the car signed. I dont like getting the boxes signed. I also get the certificates signed as well and sometimes the backing in the box. Have almost all my 1:43 and 1:18 scale cars signed. But its a very hard job getting them signed as they weigh so much. Have a look at my picture as this is how i display some of my carshttp://lowndes00.tripod.ca/MVC-001F.JPG
