Has anyone else received their Moffat XD in a closed box with the plastic window box stand, not packed in foam as usual, and the cardboard backing was just PLAIN cardboard, no printing or anything. Could ADMIN please explain why the packing on this model is WAY below the standard that we have come to expect?

There was a reason we could not use the foam inner packaging.
As the car is in a closed box, the carboard is there not for decoration but to keep the two bits of plastic apart.
It is not WAY below the level of usual packaging...just different to achieve the same result...to get your model to you in one bit!!
By the way...did you like the model??

Its made by an outside supplier and put quite simply he messed up the specifications and it was not suitable.
We make the plasic stands and ends ourselves, so used them as we had millions in stock and did not cause a months delay.

great Admin, these cars are in safe hands.
Some people have stated that there is no drivers name on the car or model.
Does anyone know as to why it is like this?

there is no drivers name on the XD or either of the XC's
Received my Allan Moffat XD model from Gateway today,
surprised to see them on the Biante site still, thought they would
be gone!! Very happy with it, the only SMALL detail I can pick on,
is the positioning of the silver strip along the doors. This, I presume is to be representation of the aluminium strip below the window, which holds the outer window seal.....
Otherwise first class, thank you Biante!
Please could we have the Muir / Geoghegan "Army Reserve"
car next?? I think it would be a great looking model to display
along with all the other XD / XE group C's that we might be lucky enough to get hold of!!!

Federation Falcon Rates Well
Received mine this week. I pondered over the packaging as well, but it wasn't a big issue when you consider the excellent detail of the product.
I'm very happy with it, and as one of Allan's lesser known cars, it makes a great talking piece in the collection. I'm also interested in the the response to V8coupe's question about no driver's names on the vehicle. Does anyone know who Allan's co-driver was for this one?
Thanks, Biante.
Cheers, ET

Ausdiver,
Both XCs did have the driver name printed. XC Cobra has them on the back of the car on the rear spoiler and the XC federation has them on the air scoop.
