View Full Version : CC Vs Biante

I seen the samples of the 1/43rd cars in Sydney Yesterday, not the pre-production, but the retail samples.

The cars look good, the detail is better than Biante (based on current Biante 1/43rds produced).

The tyres look a little thick on the edge and that the only thing that appears a little off scale.

The Seton Ford is great, the under car detail and packaging for $39.00 is unmatched.

I think for collectors it is great as we now have a true competition for quality and price, Biante will have to step up to the line to match both the amount of detail and price.

Its all good for collectors of V8 Supercars.

Glenn,

This is good news if they are as good as you say - because now we can get the other teams that BIANTE do not have the license to.

I wonder how the 1:18s will look???

Did you see these cars at a model shop? If so which one in Sydney, thanks.

Are they really that good as the Biante next to the CC used to really show up how bad the dimensions were on the CC Commodore model. I always felt they were a little closer to the mark with the Falcon. I'll be interested to see when they turn up over here in NZ.

Goldie, and V8SS

Yes they do look good the under car detail appears to be better than that of the AUTOart Vt / VX in 1/18th scale so its pretty good for 1/43rd.

Packaging is good and Price is Good.

For the guys in Perth, Gamesworld Carousel have the retail samples too. i personally think they arent as detailed as the Aa ones (except for the under side) but i was dissapointed that they chose to not put on a window net (so people can clearly see the interior detail) surely a removable option would ohave been better.

the box does look excellent though with mirrors around the whole car (except the front) and it has a perspex box now too.

up against the biante cars in a collection, it is hard to tell the difference unless you look up close. its good now there will be more teams avaliable at a competitive standard and price

Here in the US, two companies have "skirted" the issue of getting a clear view of the interior of NASCAR models. Currently, Team Caliber 1/24 models of NASCAR racers all come "standard" with removable PASSENGER-side window, which allows to get a clear view of the interior. In the early 90s, models from Raceway Replicas (presently defunct) came with "pivoting" window net, which could be simply pushed toward the model's roof.
Sincle, unlike NASCAR racers, real-life Aussie V8 Supercars actually come with opening doors, CC or Biante could easily incorporate opening front doors (without obtrusive "dog legs" of course) into 1/43 scale models.

I saw the Ingall and Seton 1:43 at my local dealer and i would have to say they look quite good but no way near Biante. I also agree that they should have a open window and no net. But i like how they have a mirrored floor on the display case. Classic 1:43 should be out Late July/August. Price will be $37.50 RRP

We are on the LAST round on this one.
I have edited the two last comments and if any come back on in a similar vane, both protagonists will be barred for a month.
Both have strong views, but we don't care!! Comments on models is what the forum is for..not verbal abuse!!
OK??

Admin,

Its not a matter of having stong views, I simply posted that I had seen the CC product and it looked ok, why is it that every time someone makes a comment about Biante "he goes on the defence and we are supposed to accept that he is the only one that knows what is going on at Biante"

And god forbid if we mention that another brand has a product that is out there in competition with Biante.

It was a forum point was it not, is this not the place to write about what products are about, and as collectors what we feel about manufacturers, distributors and other collectors.

As for the comments, Ok I might have crossed the line "butt" there is only so much one can take.

Regards Glenn

PS: Ferrari Fan I am sorry if I upset you, "Butt there is more out there then just Biante and Red F1 cars". See you on the TMS forum and I give it to you there instead.

PSS: Ferrari Fan, just so you know that I am not a bad person or against Biante, I have about 30 Biante cars and over 100 Minichamps imported by them, and I purchase at least 5 cars a month, just thought I'd let you know.

Aussiecollector,
You miss the point.
I have NEVER complanied about anyone passing views on other ranges...if you think that then there is no hope to try and get across my point!
This happens to be my site for collectors who are interested in all aspects of modelling, so they can make subjective comments on models and associated items of use to others.
So, I set the rules for conduct which is, slanging matches are out, suggestive language is out and if you cannot toe the line and keep it civil, you are also out!
And that goes for Ferrari Fan or anyone who takes to abusing other users on this forum.
I shut it down in 2001 because of the unpleasant comments passing between a couple of the members with an axe to grind, and I do not intend to let 2 or 3 mess it up for the other users again.

Fair enough

I should have worded it better. I did'nt say that you did

The comments I made were simply a point about the agression of the other person. And there onesidedness.

I promise not to slag.

While I have your attention how about a better update service for your minichamp imports. With the limited collections you always seem to be last in the world to recive and we as collectors are never informed of the number that you have ordered or will recieve. I would love to spend the money on your site but as I can get the product in Canada at a similar cost on average about three weeks before your site even states that its available.

Case in point the Hakkinen DTM / F1 set, its been available and sold out in the US, Canada and UK for a week yet you still have it as scheduled for production. Is it possible to have a little more advance notice for the Minichamps as I don't like to miss out so I play safe and buy in Canada.

The balls in your court, I look forward to your reply

Glenn

Thanks...I really don't want to cut anyone off from using forums.
Re Minichamps,
I don't own the company and am at the mercy of their distribution system.
All items made by Minichamps are stocked by us..(not the case with some countries) and as all items are first shipped to Germany and then distributed from there, sometimes we get them first and sometimes not. Maybe what you collect seems to be the ones we get last.
We fly in all stock, even the 1:18ths, so can't do better than that.
I guess its your perogative where you buy your Minichamps from for fear of missing out, but as I said we stock every model they make.
As far as keeping more up to date, its impossible to give a specific date when someone else is contolling it and the first we know is when its in the air from Germany. Thats why we do the newsletter.
I am not willing to devulge exact quantities we order of any particular item as I deem that is my business and mine alone. Suffice to say all stores who order models get them and so does the website and in sufficient numbers so everyone who wants to can get one of everything at release.
Hope that clears a few things up.

SWRT,
Do you know why DJR withdrew Greg Ritters #71
car from Racing? Was is the costs of a three
car team, Driver Perfomance or the pre-qualifying
issue. I can't find any explanation with regards to this.

Well Damien,
DJR withdrew Ritters#71 from competition due to the pre-qualifying issue, the Stone Brothers also withdrew Wayne Gadners #36 falcon to so AVESCO would scrap pre-qualifying.
Ritter and Gadner will be back in action for the QLD 500 and Bob Jane T marts 1000.That reminds me,I'd like to see a Bob Jane 7 litre camaro in 1/18.

Well V8SS,
I got the list from classics site.
The only way to get it is if you are part of the RCCA.
Also classics are going to make V8 Brutes models and I think Jamie Brocks Brute Strength SS is going to be the first, they will be done in 1/43 but I think 1/18 as well

It's good to see an even balance of Ford & Holdens on the CC list.

At least it's not just a heap of HRT Cars (that includes KMart, Young Lions).

I have it on good authority that this model ute will not be made at all by CC for legal reasons.

One could QUESTION what sort of models C.C. produce when long established retailers are selling all of there C.C. stock (1/18) at $15 each . This could say something about what the standing is of this product is in the market place. Compare a CC next to a Biante !in my humble oppinion NO COMPARISON!!
I will most probable be banned for a while, but so be it!
The list of models produced is also not of the frontrunners and the new ones are going to cost very much ther same as the Biante's ,this was only done by cc because they are getting nowhere and did not give a monkey's about you the collector.
Imagine if there was only cc 1/18 models ,you would be real happy, wouldn't you. How many models of Biante have come down from $85 to $15 in the same retail outlet . the same is the fact with HotwheelsF1 and Minichamps and Minichamps is forcing a major toymanufacturing giant to lift its game and don't rip off the collectors
C. C. has been treating the collectors with contempt and I'll never forget it
This is why I do come up for Biante/AGP,silly me.
See you all in the next couple of months

Ferrari Fan,

At the risk of being censured, "No slagging I promise"

You are still not making any sense, no one is suggesting that the CC product of old is a patch on Biante, "we all know this".

Your comments appear to be written by someone who is only interested in a buck, its sounds like you are saying "If there is no resale I not interested".

And to say that CC don't care well thats a pretty big statement, their product list suggests that they have gone out and done some work on securing teams.

And who cares if all of the models are not front runners. "You collect Ferrari F1 cars don't you"?, it was not that many years ago that the Ferrari's were in the middle of the grid and were not considered front runners.

Bert, not all of us collect for making a buck, some of us are Motorsport fans that love every piece of Motor Racing Memoribillia we can get our hands on and if CC make the cars that Biante don't and the product is still only 80% of Biante then Its ok by me because it means that I will have a full cabinet of the things I love to collect and my sons will have a collection of pretty good quality collectable once they are old enough to take ownership. Compared to the cars I got as a Kid in the 60's and 70's my 3 year old is cheering.

Last week I brought him the 7 Minicars released so far, dare I say it quality is not great but it breaches a gap for the kids just as the CC cars did he know plays with the 1/64ths and leaves the 1/18ths alone.

Heres hoping that the Biantes will be all that we hope they will be, "with no errors" and collectors not profiteers will have a much greater choice in 2002 and beyond.

Cheers Glenn

Enforcer. don't take cheap shots unless you do it in person.

I didn't make a comment about any brand ie Holden or Ford, only about one particular franchise that has 5 cars or so and of which models are repeatedly made every year in every scale.

It would be great to see the cars like Kiwi Racing, Supercheap cars etc being available for either Ford or Holden fans THAT HAVEN'T BEEEN MADE AVAILABLE BEFORE - thats my point, I don't care who makes the models.

As for losers, there are plenty of them behind the No 1 HRT car. Including Holdens.

I have read and re-read the last 5 or 6 posts and for the life of me I can't see where Enforcer took a cheap shot at anyone.

Bathurstfan, why say "don't take cheap shots unless you do it in person". Getting a bit threatening aren't you?. If you can express your point of view why can't everyone else.

Some people like Biante, some like CC, why all of the angst?. I personally will not be buying any CC models as I don't follow any of the teams that they are producing. I am sure there will be people who think otherwise, and more power to them. It doesn't mean one is wrong and one is right.

It is great that more teams are being produced in high quality. It is a bit of a shame though that it took Biante and about 4 years for CC to get serious about producing models.

'Think I would rather have a "heap" of HRT cars than a collection full of losers.

from Enforcer.

If he didn't like the word "heap" then it's not my problem. I meant "heap" in the context of large quantities, not a pile of you know what.

Not did I complain about CC or Biante.

In reference to ferrarifan's $15 CC's, if you cared to look just underneath, the Biante's were selling for $75 each which were originally $160 at the same retailer.

That makes it an $85 drop in price compared to the others being only $70. What that tells you is the retailer is clearing all his stock not just eliminating the bad apples

Hopefully we can get back to discussing more interesting topics in a more civilised manner, please.
