What a stunning car. Might have to get me one of those.
If anyone has seen the new Duke video DVD on the Skyline GTR (Not very good but there you go...), there is a GTR built by Japanese enthusiast Shin Inouie in the UK with full Nismo Z-tune body kit, and to similar specs as the Z-tune. Looks identical to this model. And boy does it go. Dirk Shoysman took it around the Nurburgring Nordschliefe circuit at a fair pace. The DVD is probably worth it for that alone... It also gets a crack on the German autobahns, and you need to watch the speedo carefully as each break in 'traffic' sees this modded Skyline see the other side of a genuine 200mph. Crazy.
Here is a picture of the real thing... (Autosaloon, Tokyo Japan 2004)

that sounds good......might have to grab a copy of that DVD
have you got a link to it or an addy where i might find it?
i recently picked up a copy of DUKE "in car" derek bell porsche 956 at several circuits, and while the audio is suspect in parts the trip down the lemans mulsanne straight (before chicanes) is worth the rrp.
...i was hoping for some technical info on the the z-tune if possible..

Terrine,
Here is a link to that Duke GTR DVD:
http://www.pitstop.net.au/pitstop/prog/OpenDocumen t.cgi?id=V0X7S13PUM&PLU=12246
I grabbed my copy from Autobarn for $39.95.
As I said, the DVD generally is not as good as I thought it could have been (seems to be a recurring theme with Duke products), but there is footage at the beginning of a Japanese driver flogging a blue stock standard R34 GT-R around a circuit in Japan (could be Tsukuba) which is definitely a highlight, as is the Shoysman Nurburgring drive. There are also two extra laps of the Nurburgring under the 'Special Features' section.
There is also a late night high speed pass in a tunnel in Japan on public roads featured on the DVD - the guys from Max Power (yes, I know...) visited the owner of a particlarly hotted up GT-R, and he obliged their wishes for a speed test by passing them in their camera car in a tunnel on a public road. They were travelling at approx. 160km/h, and he passed them like they were standing still, with the shockwave of his car blowing them about 1 metre to the side! The digital speedo on the Skyline recorded 328km/h. Absolutely ridiculous.
The rest of the DVD is rather mundane, with British Skyline owners at track days, interview with Andy Middlehurst, etc. Rather pointless really. I was hoping for some type of history of the car, and review of each model. And some official Nissan test and development footage of each car would have been outstanding, and would have made the DVD worthwhile. But I guess you can't have everything...
Anyway, getting back to that Z-tune model, I will have to place an order with my local model shop. It will look great next to my other AutoArt and Ebbro 1:18 and 1:43 GT-R's.

Unfortunately, I'm not a Skyline driver.
I like to think of myself as a 'future' Skyline driver. I am not intersted in owning a normal GTS-T or other Skyline derivatives - only a GT-R, and the condition and specs I want mean they are still a little too expensive (even the R32 GT-R).
I do however have a laregish collection of GT-R model cars - road and race - and magazine tests and reviews, and even a Japanese R34 GT-R hardcover sales brochure.
But no, not a Skyline driver......yet. ;)

well how bout some piccies of your collection then...

i will be in trouble with she who pays the bills.....again

I'll see what I can do about pictures from my collection, but the size I have to reduce them to for posting on this forum doesn't do them justice...
And I can find a little bit about the Z-tune, but so much of it is in Japanese. I just couldn't be bothered putting a translator on the page. I have seen the figure quoted at approx. 500ps for it, which, with four wheel drive, would make it a blisteringly fast car.

was that your question? that was my first question!
Ummm, if the model is in trainsit, then how can someone have picks of the model, in its box? Im confused! Still, I reckon I'll get one. (Model I mean.) And theres a syline in a car yard with a Nismo sticker across the front spoiler... what do I look for to see this apart from others?

I would say Fordboy, that someone overseas has the car and has taken their own photos and posted them on the web.
As to the Nismo sticker, I don't understand what you mean. Anyone could put a Nismo sticker on the front spoiler whether it was a Nismo item or not.
