I'm using most of my points as i don't have much cabbage left after going down to adelaide.
when it came time to check out credit card was bouncing turns out with the mortgage payment and the two monaro's my card was maxed out by $21 the exact amount of the minibar bill.
so i hope my pay goes in before they try again:(
bugger just remembered $8 for postage.
take your time signing the certificates pete take at least a couple of days:rolleyes:

well if I can find out if biante hits my card as soon as I order it or when its sent will depend on when I buy it.. cos if they hit my card straight away it waits but if they hit it when its sent then Ill order it now..
so if a biante staff wants to let me know this.. cheers

I'm about 98.8% certain the payment doesn't get processed until the order is filled, i.e. shipped!
But there is a 1.2% chance I'm wrong:)

Go on Malik...Order the car...
I'm 103% certain that they don't charge before shipping...
#1 reason, it is against the law to charge before shipping...
#2 Trevor said in a post some time ago that they charge on shipping...hence why they don't do Advanced Orders on everything...
Cheers
Ordered mine today. Admin, pleeeeeeeeeeease make the '98 Skaife VS:)

yes, I read that too
What'll it have? Car started race, car stopped race, Brock to 'never return to the mountain' lol
Well i'll throw my "ive ordered it" as well, after I was told only 2 weeks ago on this forum theres no big rush - Biante will produce around 6000 of them and they wont all sell out quickly and The only Brock release of late to significantly better it's RRP is the 1977 A9X. but as I expected when I posted it, its done the opposite and is a much awaited release by many. Maybe not as big as the 96 VR as it was a winner, but still huge nevertheless as it was Brocks final Bathurst (well in a HRT 05 anyway) Anyhoo thats where i'm gonna leave that discussion so I dont cause trouble ;)
Hmm, hope (I seriously doubt it will tho) but it'd be great if its sent before Eastern Creek next weekend, because if it is I'd get Skaifey to sign the other half of the certificate, so I'll wait anxously
also how many are there if anyone knows? If Petes autographing each of the certificates I cant see there being extremely many??

As you can see in the attached photo, Peter is busily signing the certificates.
The models aren't far off now.
What a champion!! I couldn't sign 6000 of those:D...........probably coz my name isn't Peter Brock.

The one that got away, The #1 '73 Tornado LC X-U1 had 12000 ex. and look there are NONE left, other then on the secondhand market at an increased price at that.
Wonder how the models fared on the ship[ in the cyclones?
ONE NEEDS ONLY 1 OF EACH ,IN A COLLECTION, TO HAVE IT COMPLETE !
With all these earlier Holden models coming out the HRT/HDT collection itself starts to look something else.1969-2003.

Keeping with your theme FF,
One only needs one of each of the "memorable" cars to complete the collection (of which Brock had 9).
;)
Does anyone have the cc version of this car? code 1005-2, and whats the going price for it?

Chups,
That's the same for me. It took me too long to track down some of the cars that I have to sell them now.
Some of the ones from Model cars Australia that I have are near inpossible to find.;)

Yeah, I thought I would have got my "order shipped" e-mail by now. I know there was a delay with Brocky signing the COA's but with 6000 to sign, who can blame him.
I'm sure Biante are onto it though and they shouldn't be too far away. Besides, the longer it takes to ship, my Visa won't be debited and the closer I get to payday to pay for it.:D
I got my "order shipped" email at 1.30pm or something today.. hopefully get it soon. :)

i heard the ship was held up cos of some cyclone or something and didnt get into fremantle till friday or the weekend or something, so with unpacking and that it should be today or tomorrow i think.
The news story on the Home page says that this model is Sold Out but when I did a search, it came up Temporarily out of stock.
Whats the story:confused:
Have any been shipped out yet?

V8SS,
My model was delivered to me at work in Melbourne at 9:30am.
As usual another magic model.
My COA is 201 / 6000.
PS: It pays to buy from Biante's website.....
Frosty,
I ordered mine on the 24th of March through the Members Only section. I haven't had the Order Shipped e-mail yet which is very unusual unless Biante send all the domestic orders first and international ones later:confused:

Hundreds left yesterday with hundreds more to go. It's all hands on deck in the warehouse (I'm heading out there now) so they will all be shipped before Easter.

This is quite possible. Tropical Cyclone Fay was slow-moving off the northern coast of Northern Territory and Western Australia for almost 2 weeks at the end of last month. I presume this is on the main shipping route between Hong Kong and Freemantle.

not one to go looking for mistakes/errors but when you have a full size replica of this car just outside the back door its a little hard not to notice.
under the qantas logo on the front splitter it should read
the australian airline, not the spirit of australia.
but once again, i'm not complaining i think this is one of the best models release so far, at least in my collection and to guys at biante, keep the brock car coming.

hey guys, got mine today although it was sent from Perth 3 days ago (it didnt arrive in Sydney till yesterday afternoon and it goes to the post office ...)
Anyway mines 44 of 6000 - I'm wrapped! This is the lowest number model ive ever had. I gotta say it dont look too bad although now i'm waiting on a display cabinet to be built so I cant really have a decent look at it (because I wont take it off the base until ive got room to display it in a cabinet)
Anyway cheering, another fun spending splurge!

yah this is an easy fix Road Runner but be careful if you try it as superglue tends to leave fume marks on models and Ive had problems before removing fume marks has removed paint... not off my diecast but other types of models I have done (Games Workshop etc) which has involved repainting parts so I would hate to see this happen to your car..
Do the headlight covers clip into place? maybe just placing them and giving a bit of a firm push might make it clip back into place on the model? I would have tried sept my cover is completely missing...

Got mine yesterday, and yeah I did notice the Qantas slogan seemed a little more recent than 1997. But hey I'm not one to nitpick, sure is a fantastic model (267/6000).

Totally agree with Malik.....Dont even think about using super glue. The headlight covers will fog like crazy. Grab some Revell Contacta model glue. It dries clear and doesnt fog.

Check the front spoiler the schollop on each side is deeper on the VS than the VR.
GRPIII
08-04-2004, 06:03 PM
the vr had a flat lip at the bottom of the spiltter where as the vs had a more pointer base.
Y2kGoofball
08-04-2004, 07:04 PM
and the road version of the VR and VS is the same, not much difference and to the untrained eye (ie not a deep Holden supporter) they can both look the same on the road with only minor differences, such as the VS having a dark grey, carbon look strip running between the rear lights, like the VT's but on a smaller scale, whereas the VR was only painted (fyi if you check the model it doesnt have the plastic strip i'm talking about), small things like that (btw we own a 1997 VS although it means absolutely nothing to anyone I thought i'd chuck it in!)
So overall similar to the VT versus VX, only minor changes between the models which is why their almost the same
Y2Joel
08-04-2004, 07:14 PM
I believe that the badge on the road car VS had a chrome badge over a normal badge on the VR.
Pedro
08-04-2004, 07:17 PM
The major differences between road going VR & VS were mechanical.
The VS wasthe first commodore to have the new "Ecotec" V6 engine.
Most of the other changes were cosmetic as far as I recall.
GRPIII
09-04-2004, 07:23 AM
as for the changes on the road going vr-vs.
other than what pedro stated, the badges were different just y2kgoofball said, the vr had a round black bagde with lion symbol where as the vs had a chrome hollowed out emblem.
the bumper bars had a black & silver stripe rather than a plain black stripe or mould.
some vr had no grille inserts, where as the vs had grille inserts.
the vr's had orange repeater lamps, the vs's change to white.
but the race cars still had a slighty different front spiltter.

Not that it matters that much!
I'm pretty sure the VR had square orange repeaters and the VS had oval orange repeaters! The upper end of the model range may have had white?

Yeah but isn't the Brock/Skaife part of the Brock collection as well.
I won't be getting the ATCC car as well but I don't collect the Brock Collection. I guess if the Brock/Skaife car sells out, it gives collectors the chance to still get this car with this livery.

If they were being made in 1:43 I'd get both.
I don't look at it from a livery point of view, although there are some minor differences, it's the significance of the cars themselves.

the bathurst poster would have been made up before the race so they would have used old pictures, they do this all the time.

It was in the pits at Bathurst and has the Australian 1000 Classic above the number on the door but, I guess they could have changed it for the race!

Yeah im getting both the shell series and have got the bathurst car, cant get enough of the brock collection so why not get both. Im not a huge skaife fan so would rather have one without his name on it ! Have probably upset a few people by saying that :p

Mike - same thing with the headlight cover happened to my Brock/Mezera car. A small spot of super glue on a cd then used a pin to get a bit on the end and dabbed it onto the point of contact - can't even tell :)
I pick my car up on Wednesday - Can't wait!!!

Thanks Pedro!
That is about the only difference I could see. No Matter! Still a great looking model.

on the headlight issue. i havent recieved my brock/skaife vs yet.
but i bought a couple of minichamps bmw m3 gtrs off of ebay a few weeks back. both had the headlight covers rolling around in the box. and one had a spoiler loose on the rear. the spoiler got a touch of super glue easy fix. but i was scared to use it on the headlight covers. because the fumes from the glue leave a white
pastey film on clear plastic. i found something that works great
and you cant see it. clear fingernail polish. i used quick drying fingernail polish to the area the cover fits on to. then press and hold the cover for a few minutes and it looks great. i recommend this to anyone who has this problem with any model in the future
its not as messy and it drys clear. if you want to see these cars look at my community webshots link at the bottom of this post.
it will be under german touring cars. good luck with your models.;)

Biante 11500,
Do you Buy Your models directly from Biante or is there a shop in the states that sells them.

Now sold out on the web site.
I still haven't got my order shipped e-mail. Richard said they would all be sent before Easter. I hope its just a glitch in the system.

I'm just hoping it will unexpectedly turn up at the end of the week. I'm on holiday next week and don't really want to have to come into work if I can avoid it:p

Picked up my model today although it is going back tomorrow. The yellow component under the bonnet has fallen out - think it is the battery??? When I was picking this one up there was already one with the headlight cover off so that stayed at the store... Otherwise it looks sensational, sits really low but now I have to wait another day before it is in my cabinet :(
Also good to see the arrow for the front tow hook is there - BUT where is the tow hook??? The team brock cars from last year have them so why not now implement them on the newer releases that have them. It is on the rear of the car, unless this has broken off also???

cameron, Sorry to here about your bad luck. Quality's just not what it used to be ! I recently had a similar experience,I had The 1/18 Ambrose & XRGT Falcon on pre-order and when they came in the guy's in the shop and myself went through that many models with one fault or another until i had a good one of each, a good thing the guy's in the shop value their customers . Anyhow I hope your shop looks after you ! good luck..
Regards Jim.

Cameron,
There is no tow hook on the front of the Brock/Skaife VS.

I agree it would look better again with the tow hook.
But it would be one of those parts that would be so tiny it could get broken off very easily.

Interesting to see that that HRT VS had six spoke wheels. Could that of been the press car maybe?

Pedro true - but they are on the 2003 Team Brock cars and add that little extra to the 'realism' of the car.

That is a PR shot done at Phillip Island at the start of the year.
Similar shot featured on the HRT poster but was car #15 instead.
I agree it would have looked better with the tow hook, but hey it's
a sensational looking model none the less. A few things though - the
fuel vent sits lower on the model then the real deal and the air jack
actually sat behind the side skirts/front gaurd rather than cutting into
the skirts/gaurds. Only Gibson's and a few privateers had it like this.
The HSV logo actually changed 3 times during the weekend. It started
off in the blue/white guise as per the ATTC but then changed a couple
of times until it finished looking like it does on todays HRT cars.
Love the "hunkered down" look - now all we need is to get the latter
day V8's looking like this.
Those 6 spoke wheels were banned prior to the
Enduro's after teams found they were cracking.

The Six spoke wheels were banned early 97 if I remember correctly as they began to crack due to fatigue HRT had problems with as well as DJR and other teams using them.
CAMS finally banned the offending wheels due to safety

My VS finally arrived and it looks awesome after the first quick inspection. Luckily there doesn't appear to be any problems with the headlight covers.

Rob - I also noticed the fuel vents should be higher up. THey are the same as what is on the VR...
"hunkered down" look - is that the technical term ;) Was wondering how to describe it. Looks great sitting low doesn't it.

I borrowed that term from Michael Simcoe who said that to describe
the original "Monaro" Concept Coupe, so I guess it is a technical term.
It does look great and I truely hope that look flows onto the new-age V8's.
