Guys,
I love these models and try not to be picky on minute details. However, although i have all the XB's so far, I am extremely disappointed that after looking at the prototype of the Tango car, that Biante has not taken the time to correct the huge mistake with all the past XB's.
All XB's to date have had XC front guards and consequently the grille sits too far forward and on the wrong angle. Having a real car I was able to get all my models corrected by a model maker [at consideracble cost i might add] but I was told some time ago, that the reason the XB road cars were not being done was because Biante was correcting the tooling after so many comments about the front.
I have even emailed Biante showing them the corrected front next to an original.
I am glad they corrected the colours as Tango never came with "brown or silver highlights". It was Tango and Black; and Burnt Orange with brown highlights.
HOWEVER, It is sad that after some 3 years, we are going to see a new XB road car with all the same mistakes......very very sad!

hey hot351,
could you post pictures of both fronts?
Who changed the front of your models?

Don't forget it is just a prototype and hopefully this will be fixed. This issue is one of the reasons why I haven't got an XB as yet.

Does this apply to 1/43's too? Must admit that my eye is not that critical & of course it'd be much less obvious in the smaller scale. Must line up my XB & Cobra.:)

Well show us the HUGE mistake make over foto's please, as I cannot realy see a mistake on the XB front grilles,
Looking at corresponding pictures of the so far brought out XB racing versions and comparing this detail with the pictures of the real ones, leaves me very impressed with the efford of the models.
So I would like to see the differences of the modified models, to prove me wrong.

If there is a difference ? I doubt you'll see it here, maybe better to receive it via email. If I had a product and someone was telling me its all wrong and here's how it should be I don't think I'd be posting the evidence on my own web site.

Why is it people have to whinge and *****
ok there may be flaws in some of the models but isnt it nice to be able to buy a model that resembles what you drive or who you barrack for as a race team
I just cant see the logic in whinging about it if you dont like the way the models are dont buy em
i think to date Biante have done a brilliant job with what models they have produced
perfect or not ill buy em either way just the chance to own a piece of australian history is enough incentive for me

Thats the bottom line really, if you don't like it don't buy it ! There pretty damn good even if there are errors which I have never noticed till its been mentioned on here. Errors or no errors my cabinet may be full of crystal if it wasn't for these models.

There are people who will be happy to get a model of their favourite car, no matter how inaccurate (how did Trax do so well otherwise?), but there are others who want spot-on accuracy. And when model manufacturers boast about their accurate replicas etc in adverts it is clear that they regard that as important. I don't own an XB and so don't know the cars intimately, but I can see that there are errors in the front end - and they would stand out like a sore thumb to any keen XB owner! When you look at other Biante 1:18 and realise just how near-perfect they appear, any perceived error in another model must be frustrating. Modelling is so much more than just getting the measurements right - look at Madame Tussauds and see just how wrong they can go despite thousands of accurate measurements. The "look" of a model is something that needs to be tweaked with a good artist's eye, and it does seem that the XB wasn't quite right when first modelled (how long ago?). Full marks to Biante if they are going to revise the moulds, as that is what perfectionists do! J K Rowling is now rewriting all her Harry Potter books, as with a more mature eye she thinks the early books were quite poorly-written in places. And various Old Masters reworked some of their early paintings, so it's fitting that Biante should want to bring models up to their current extraordinarily-high quality standards.

Vanpyre and others,
This is not about whingeing and moaning, this is what I call constructive criticism. I agree with Nick here. Whilst I am the first to admit that I was absolutely rapt when Biante released the XB that I sent them a big thank you! For thirty years that I have had the car, I have yeraned for any model of a falcon let alone an XB. I was so stoked to get the XB that I bought THREE of them. 1 for the shelf and 2 to be built as my car when I showed it and as it is now.
I understand these are MODELS! and as a result are just that! If we really wanted to be picky, we could argue about door hinges, petrol caps etc etc. But that's stupid! All we can ever ask fpr is reasonably accurate representations of the real cars.
Let's face it, the Coupes rear guards are not quite right, as are the rear side windows BUT they are pretty damn close.
THE POINT HERE is that the XC Cobra looks like one, the Toranas look fantastiic but the XB front is wrong. The front of the guards are identical to the XC which on a real car they are NOT. With this model, the subsequent result is that the grille sits too vertical and sits over the bumper. On real cars they sit down and BEHIND the bumper.
Yeah, sure, I am being picky, but if I can't say a word or two of constructive criticism, then I'll pack up and live in a communist state.
Glad you agree Nick!
