Hey guys (and gals) -
New Member here - been looking around, some VERY nice stuff! Very interested in acquiring some of the Autart and Biante pieces.
I am a collector of 1/64th true scale pieces only - my collection numbers 4500+ pieces with about 450 trucks (straight and Tractor/Trailer types) and about 200 custom pieces.
I do 1/64th scale customs and also design, build and manfacture parts for 1/64th scale customs. We also maintain a site of custom information which brings you step-by-step through the process.
Parts: http://www.mini-motorsonline.com
Information: http://www.hotworldcustoms.com
** We are currently switching servers so a number of pieces of both aites are still be transtiioned - we hope to have this resolved shortly.
Look forward to talking with you folks - Go-day! (did I say that right?? LOL!)

It's G'day mate, and for your info we don't throw shrimps on the barbie! Welcome. You must be some short of genius to work with 1/64 models (without my glasses I can't even see the damn things!).

G'day Dipstick...
Interesting handle...you know in Australia a dipstick isn't just what you check your oil level with...;)
Funny how words mean completely different things in different countries...
Hope you enjoy the forum...

Let me clear a few things up - G'day is pronounced gid-day (well if you're a Kiwi I expect), and ignore wayno I've seen Aussies throw Shrimps on the barbie (BBQ);) That’s Bar-be-que not a Barbie doll, well hmm maybe, no don't go there.
Welcome anyhow, you'll have ball in here, good bunch of enthusiastic collectors.
Cheers

Welcome, dipstick. Good to see another Yank out here. There are a few of us.
Word of warning: the minicars are addictive. I started out with five and now have upwards of 40, I believe. The new ones in the pipeline will be irresistible.
Enjoy yourself out here. These folks are top-notch.

LOL!! You guys are all ready cracking me up. I know a little about you Aussie folks - I spend some time at the Outback Steak Houses here in the US! LOL!! Thanks for the warm welcome!
Gi- Day - got it!! :D
As far as dipstick - it is sort of a play on words here in the US and for my handle and something that sorta stuck. I was originally looking for a car part to use on EBay many years ago as my ID and this kinda stuck in my head and has been with me on almost every board since.
The cars - VERY cool. Hope to be rustling up a few for myself shortly. I have been most impressed with the Biante offerings. I like the non-mainstream items - Siku, Majorette, now Biante are all very minimal here is the states so it is nice to get some unique pieces. Loking forward to a few of the new pieces previewed as well.

Hey Dipstick -
Do you have any Tomy Pocket Cars? I have a bunch of those from when I was a kid. Like Biante does for me now, the Pocket Cars offered a bunch of vehicles that weren't readily available through other toy companies.

I have a few TOMY cars in my original childhood collection pieces, which I keep seperate from my regular collection, However I have not actively pursued them due to there relatively small scale. I am a purest when it comes to 1/64th scale items - I like things at or close to real sizing.
Dump trucks smaller than VW Bugs and the like are not that interesting to me - I like to display my trucks and cars together so scale has become VERY important to me.
I think TOMY has alot of nice pieces but just have not pursued them for the reason above. Hard to buy everything one wants - LOL!!

Welcome ,Dippo, Yer living in the midst of the birthcraddle of the Tractor, as a fair few brands have sprung up from there.
Must be an interesting area to go and look for the old/antique items both small and big.
Please do NOT ignore Wayno, as he is a bit of OK;)

Yeah, sorry about that. It's a little embarassing. However, they DO make a great chicken cesear salad. It's called the Brisbane Chicken Cesear Salad, why, I do not know. Oh, and they have Toowoomba Pasta. Again, I see no connection.
During my various trips to various Outbacks, I was able to "discover" Sheaf Stout, Old Austalia Stout and Castlemaine XXXX. I liked them all, but am partial to stouts.
AFAIK, most of the Outbacks discontinued carrying all Aussie beers except Fostor's. I am stuck looking for those three beers in specialty stores that only occasionally have them. Tragic, really.
While searching the web to ensure I had the correct spelling of Castlemaine, I stumbled across the following quote:
"XXXX - The beer Queenslanders can spell."

Yeah, but some of them still get it wrong, and want XXX, well been told you get more than R rated, as I have no idea what it all means, I'm going back to setting up my model display.
Cheers
Mike
P.S. & Ive heard in some countrys XXXX means Condoms, dont know if there any truth in that, but has heard it at a few pubs.
BC I will post you some if you like;)

zeitgeist, if you want to try some truly great Aussie beers go for the Boags premium or Cascade from Tasmania or the Coopers from South Australia. They are truly wonderful examples of the brew making art!!!!!

I will say on behalf of my boys here - I am glad to hear that Foster's is swill water there as well. When the bar tender serves it up and says "aussie's finest" and we all gag the pint down, there were alot of questions being asked.
"Is that seriously their best?" - "What does their worst taste like then - Dear God!"
