just went through some old messages to find that a person makes a comment he is told to go away i sent a email to the office only to be told "retype this message in a less abusive manner and you will be answered " quote the raeson i wrote to them was to indicate how upset and dissapointed i was concerning the packageing of the new Moffet xd and that we as collectors buy their products because of the quality and excellent presentation of their product if only the person had realised we collectors are prepared to wait a little longer for the product if it means maintaning this standard

fair enough - but what do you put in the cabinet onshow -
the box or the model ?
Excuse my ignorance, but what exactly has the box got to do with the contents? It is a mere means of transport from shop to cabinet. My boxes end up in the roof (for lack of space below) after a glad-wrap treatment. I couldn't care less if it was toilet paper as long as it's strong enough to protect the car.
What is wrong with you people????

you're missing the point ross. a couple of things here -
1) admin has reasoned WHY the XD was packaged that way - so the thing gets to you in ONE PIECE. that, to me, is a good enough reason.
2) reread passenger's reply - you dont pay 150 odd bucks for the nice box. we've been thru this before in other threads.
3) people make sure the box is undamaged when buying NOT because they want to display their boxes, but to ensure that the model has been looked after, and not thrown around.
4) the stickiness on your car is not likely to be biante's fault. you didn't realise your car had tape on it until you opened it and had a good look at it right? biante does not open up and check 6000 models from "head to toe" (for want of a better term).

I have put the moffat XD on hold / layby. The sticky tape on the side of the car was the first thing I was wondering if it would damage the car when I took it off down the track.
Biante have set the standard for these get models, so I presume we all have the expectation now, to see this models continue to be packeded the way the have in the past.
I haven't heard off any moffat xd's being damaged to the way they were packed. So, looks like is nothing to worry about.
I would like to know is the sticky type tape, on these diecasts does any damage to these models over time?, as mine will be in boxs till I can display them, ages away that is.

Looks like a few people are missing the point.
Questions asked,
(1) Why is the packaging different (has been answered in another thread).
(2) How is the sticky tape removed from the car, good question, no one has answered it yet just given crappy replies. Now I don't buy road cars so I don't have this car and cannot comment, but given the amount of sales for this car I would have thought that someone would be able to answer the question or are they all still in the boxes.
I would have thought that putting Adhesive tape on the car would be a NO NO, but obviously there is a reason which only BIANTE can answer. And once answered should be a good reference point for us all should any other models arrive with the offending tape on the model especially on the paint of the model.

If all of the boxes are the same it would not effect the resale value of this model one cent. My car had the tape across the doors as well which I thought was a good idea as it held the doors solidly during transit, they were not jiggling around while on the move.

It sounds like you did not ask a question but went on the attack. That's the best way to get your question answered. NOT.

I removed mine and the car is fine, so did my brother. No damage what so ever. It doesn't even seem to be tape. It isn't stiky enough to be tape.

Regarding the so called "Sticky Tape" issue.
Some of the cars from Autoart factory do have a small circle of sticky tape, mostly on bonnets and boots to keep them closed in transit.
The method for removing any excess glue once peeled off has been gone over many times before, but for the benefit of new members, just get some eucalayptus oil and rub it off. It causes no damage to model or printing.
In the case of the Moffat car and also for every VL, AU, XE and XD and soon to be released VR, they have a small plastic piece of the mounting platform that extends up and holds both doors closed during shipping.
To stop the black plastic piece rubbing on the doors, a strip of NON sticky clear plastic is inserted between the doors and the securing piece.
When the car is removed from the base, it just comes off as it isn't sticky.

thanks for the good coments. I will try the oil. As to the usual no sticky problem may be bianti could indicate to the shippers to stop using this type of tape, I agree its hard for biante to check on many hundreds of cars its impossible maybe they could nip it at the bud by telling them not to use it. By the way some of you guys should consider the fact not all collectors are 16 to 25 i am a mature aged person who loves the sport and eagerly awaits the next realease of cars. Its a shame it has taken over 40 years for such models to come on the market then again maybe not if they had come earlier you guys would be paying $1000s for many of the earlier cars anyway HAPPY COLLECTING
