Hey guys i recently bought a car of ebay of which the description stated that the car was mint and had no damage.

I recived this car today and was shocked that the car is really grubby (fingerpints, scuff marks, smudges ect....)

I was just wondering how and what you guys use/do to clean your dirty models.

The cars decals arent tampo printed but are in good condition.
So i was wondering how do you clean these without damaging the decals?

All you help would be greatly appriciated as this could be a great car if it wasnt for this problem.

Thanks Chris:confused:

I find most prints will rub off with a good soft cloth and some careful usage.
Apart from that, I find the best way to clean your models is not to get them dirty in the first place!
Oh, cut and polish is not recomended! :D

Hi skylinegtr00 I recently suffered the same problem with a model bought of ebay,,,,,model was not as described,, actually far from it.,, luckily I cleaned it up using McGuires Quick Detailer which I use on my own car,,, luckily it polished the marks out of it.... But like you i was very disapointed,,,, the sellers excuse was that he said he'd never looked at the model and blamed his retailer...:(

That's good to know, as I bought an orange UT McLaren F1 GT LM off eBay, and the model arrived dusty, with dirty marks all over it, plus a loose rear spoiler, a window completely out and rattling around in the box, and with a scratched windscreen where the vendor had vigorously wiped the dust off, presumably with a bit of dirty rag........So is it true that toothpaste can remove fine scratches? I contacted the vendor, and got no reply, and eBay have suspended him, so I can't even leave feedback. I have since found out that he has used numerous aliases on eBay, but out of 250 transactions he is the first I've had trouble with. And at least the model arrived!
