The circuit is again on and this time it will take place in Italy, so the FERRARI Fever will be at feverpitch, and a late broadcast is imminent for us here in good old Australia, Thank heavens for the VHS.;)

Mate, I can't wait. Hopefully someone can stop the red steamroller (just for the good of the sport). Am looking forward to watching qualifying and the race.
No matter what the result I'll still be taping it to keep.
C'mon Mark, Juan, Fernando and Kimi!

Well there you go. Schumacher over two seconds quicker than Ralf in third. Barrichello second over a second down with Davidson and Button putting in a good show for BAR.
Webber in 12th over three seconds down.
Jordan are running with pictures of Senna on the engine covers.

Jordan with Senna pics?!!! What the hell is the sport coming to?
Every Imola race makes us who were watching that fateful night reflect on Senna.
In my opinion, this year no different.

Once again this Senna thing. Yes he was the master (my fav of all time), but I feel for Ratzenberger. We lost TWO drivers that fateful week end.

Well I found a pic of the Jordan on the following link....
F1 pictures from Friday (http://www.formula1.com/race/photographs/717/Frid ay/23303.html)
I can still remember watching the crash in horror, thinking that it might just be one of those really bad ones. Unfortuntely this was & I'm sure it might just be a bit easier on his family if we weren't reminder about it every time they visit this track.
That said, I think it'll be another red wash & one which could see the end to the 2004 championship (just give it to Michael now !!!)A little early I know, but there doesn't seem to be anyone out there who is able to match the guy come raceday - he's just way toooooo goood !!! :D
cheers.

The Senna pictures are just a tacky advertising stunt for Jordan designed to get them a bit more TV exposure.
If Ayrton was here today Ii wonder how he'd feel about his picture being on the second worst cars on the grid. If anyone was going to run Senna's picture on their cars it should have been Williams but I'm not even sure about that .

You are spot on. If Jordan were serious about paying respect they would have had Senna on one car and Ratzenberger on the other. A piss poor team trying to milk the world's emotions to get some more preciouis air time.

Surprise, surprise! Minardi have gotten in on the action by putting the word saudade on their sidepods. The word doesn't really translate to English, but basically means missing you with great sadness. They have also got the colours of the Brazilian flag on there.
Ok here is the situation as I understand it after the first two sessions on Friday,
1. M Schumacher Ferrari 1.20.084
2. J Button BAR 1.20.966
3. T Sato BAR 1.21.159
4. R Barrichello Ferrari 1.21.443
5. K Raikkonen McLaren 1.21.586
6. J Trulli Renault 1.21.604
7. A Davidson BAR 1.21.643
8. J Montoya Williams 1.21.661
9. F Alonso Renault 1.21.788
10. D Coulthard McLaren 1.21.795
11. R Schumacher Williams 1.22.057
I have combined the best times from each session, so if I've stuffed it up I apologize!
12. M Webber Jaguar 1.22.167

Button claims pole.
D'oh! There goes 20 bucks. Had 20 on Micheal to pole every race this year. Oh well, still have 50 on him that he goes through the season undefeated.

Hopefully an interesting race without the SennaSaddness, and RatzenbergerRememberance constantly brought up again & again.
Button could be a new Mika, he did not a lot and then there he was! We need him to perform.
What about the Mcslow's, nowhere to be spotted, c'mon we need some resistance from them, not just a rollover ,tickle me belly, session again!

What an impressive lap from Jenson! His last sector was spectacular. Very well deserved.
Montoya went quickest with a 1.19.8 in the first of the two run off sessions, but just couldn't back it up which was dissapointing.
McLaren are in heaps of trouble. David just didn't have the pace, and Kimi didn't even bother to complete his flying lap!
A good solid effort from Webber to slot into eigth place with his fastest lap of the week-end.
Michael is looking VERY good for race day, but I would love to see the BAR come away with the win!

Good news to see another team on pole for a change.
Seems the new HONDA engine is a genuine evolution. Here's hoping that BAR HONDA have a good race, if they do they may move up to second place in both DRIVERS & CONSTRUCTORS championships, depending on where the FERRARI'S finish.
AM very much looking forward to the race, especially the first corner!!
See MS said on the F1 website that the first corner should be interesting...........watch out Jenson!! Best of luck to WEBBER as well.
Cheers,
Timbo.

Michael, you are a god. It is just that simple. The teams are back in Europe now so there are no excuses.
Ferrari you are brilliant. BAR with Button have shown massive improvement on last year. Renault are getting there. The rest are simply pathetic.
Webber with his performance clause in his contract must be a given to get out of the ***** car for next year.

Loved the dummy spit from Montoya in the press conference afterwards. Didn't like it when Michael closed the door on him at the first chicane (Michael had the racing line) but then in the next breath matter of factly says how he did the same thing to his team mate.
Great race Michael - a true legend at work. Can't believe Barrichello had the same car ?
Nice race by Button but a lot of interest in the race disappeared with his very long first fuel stop.
Glad to finally see Kimi get a point. I'm no Kimi fan but his luck so far this season has been appalling.

Well done to MS and the FERRARI team once again. Very happy for Jenson Button and BAR again. Another outstanding result for them.
Bad luck for Webber and JAGUAR.
How do MINARDI & JORDAN keep going??

Well what an interesting race, if only for the first 9 laps !!!
Sure it was great for all those Schumi fans (& I am one of them), but what are the rest of the field doing ???
Apart from the first couple of corners of the race there was bugger all passing & it was disapointing to see Rubins run the way he did - either he was not interested in the the race or didn't have the same equipment Michael did ???
What i do look foward to is Monaco (not the next round in Spain, as Michael will win that as well) because I think it will be where Jenson scores his (& BAR's) 1st win.
With the tight & twisty confines of the streets I think it will work perfectly with the awesome of the Honda unit.
food for thought,
cheers. :)

The best action all day was the press conference.....lets just give this years title on Micheal now.....and we can have him and Montoya duel it out at the conferences.

AArrghhh ;I is in heaven, what a show, and to see the performance of the olde Monty;....Ahhhhh that warms me hart.
Borrachello has been shown up yet again, sack the dude, and get Jozz in the seat for some serious action, before Eddy the irish eagle gets him first.
Some of these checkbook charlies are pathetic and should NOT be allowed in the main race.
My lasty line,
Ohhhhhhhh Denissss, where areeeee youuuuuu;)

Seems the best part of the post race interview was the non-English part that we didn't get here in Oz :-
Q: (Olaf Bachmann - Koelner Stadt Anzeiger): Juan, can you explain your gesture on the last lap to Michael?
Montoya: I just said 'what happened, what were you thinking'. That's all.
Schumacher: I thought you were congratulating me.
Montoya: I never do actually.
Hmmmmmm. Love to know what the 'gesture' was ?

Monty is a goner in every aspect of the F1 way.
The embarrisment here in Australia,Alliantz insurrance, that was caused to them , has done him no good at all.
Overall a classless act as a matter of fact.
Kimmy will leave the sinking McLaren ship and Monty will join this outfit, he deserves it Good luck Monty.

Arrh, thats bloody funny :D !!!
I must admit I was wondering what Monty was doing & thought his comments in the press confrience was interesting.
I though it was clear that on the incar camera, Shumi had cronic understeer on the exit of the corner which caused him to remain on the racing line & cause JPM to run wide onthe grass :D !!!
cheers.

Is it me or is F1 becoming more mundane each year, this is yet another Schuey year, I went to bed once he hit the front, seen it all before, and sure enough the next morning the results said the same.
It's getting all a bit boring (sorry FF just my thoughts) I use to love the single seaters from Formula Fords up, but the F1 is tiring. Perhaps this should become a same car formula, all Ferrari's:D Then we can see the driver against driver racing we like again. (I'm just kidding of course).
Oh well, roll on the V8's at one of my old tracks - Pukekohe.
Cheers

Kiwiracing, each to their own mate. In F1 history more often than not there is one make that dominates for a while, but that's the nature of the beast.
People still love the it because it is the pinnacle of motor sport. I for one will continue to follow it passionately, as I'm sure will many others.
Even ff would continue to watch even if JPM was dominating like his beloved Schuey!
