It is just over 3 weeks and the big event here in Perth, Modelscene (diecast) is uppon us again.

Sunday 23 May 2004
Cannington Agricultural hall crn. Albany Highway& station street, Cannington ,9.30am-3.30pm $4 entree kids FREE!

Maybe this is a good venue to have a sort of get together asgain as food and refreshments are available PLUS I will have a fair few prototype's on loan from Admin (Thank You Very much, for your support and trust) on show ,so these can be inspected and admirred
Anyway, I will be there (cannot leave the display) but looking (again) forward of meeting you all and have a nice chinwag about our hobby.
My theme this year will be FORD Motorsport.
Including Bathurst and F1 +CART.

No ,I do not, and if it is the same as last year then I will only know at the very last moment what Trevor and Richard will make available to me, but it will be a broad spectrum,i.e. will cover all makes.
See you there.

By chance would you think that any of the prototypes would be up for sale at all?:)

Would not think so.
The prototypes are kept until the production run is ready then Admin may be generous and give one away in a competition or something.;)

Are there any major model swap meets in Melbourne? I can't say I've heard of too many, although my ear isn't that close to the ground.

Keep an eye on the Melbourne Trading Post...they are usually advertised in there...

I don't know which part of Melb your from, but there is a good swap meet in Springvale Rd in Forest Hill...I think its in September.

Just looked in this weeks Trading Post and found this...

COLLECTABLE TOY SWAPMEET
Melbournes monthly model car & train swapmeet. Scouthall, Mahoney's Rd, Forest Hill, Thursday 29th April, 7.30pm. BRN:0970743U
0412-096-832

This one is different to the one I posted above...have never been to the Mahoneys Rd Swap Meet...

I just have a feeling;) that the Prototype department will have some red hot item in it, somehow.
Well worth the visit to come and see these, for sure.

I'll do my best to make it along again.

The WAMCC always put on a great display and last year Ferrari Fan had prototypes at this very show as well as his own tractor models etc..

Well worth the visit and i also managed to pick up some great bargains from the retailers who tend to use the fair as a clearance sale........hopefully they will again......;)

Cheers,

I just had the HDT/HRT model cars out of the display units and on the table (Big table) out in the pergola, due to the article in the latest AMC issue.
Just a thought, to even the FORD display that I am going to do, maybe I should try to wressle another table out of the Press Jager and put up a HDT/HRT Holden display, as these models are equaly sensationally executed and might be bringing some pleasure to the attending public that favours Holden Racing
(could not think of any reason why one should, but then again:D )
What do we think of that idea? from Monaro to VY in 2.4 mtr.
This would no doubt please members like Chups!

chups
01-05-2004, 04:45 PM
well it would please members like me, and all the other holden fans, but if i wanted monaro to VY in 2.4m i would just go look at my collection. only i dont have the prototypes on mine :(

but i think you should have a ford racing and holden racing display, ordered in chronological order. it would be quite a site

Well a select few on this forum have and ,I have been told that they look the ants pants. They are SENSATIONAL!
As I said there will be some red hot prototypes on show, which ones I will be trusted with ,I do not know!
So to be there is to see them, and maybe some of you can do the honours in the posting pics department, when it is all over.

Mixing FORD with the GM product is NOT on they, if happening ,will be seperate displays.

The Model Auto Expo opens at 9.30 am. So you'll have plenty of time to come down, view the displays, negotiate a bargain or two from the swap meet, enjoy a 'sausage sizzle', buy a raffle ticket, meet a few other Biante forum members (at 11.00 am) and still be home in plenty of time to see the V8's.

On the C.C. side, very close to the BIANTE prototype side, there is also a second Charger and a XT GT Green with race# plus others on show.
Bring plenty of $$ as it will be bargainhunter galore, the trading tables are bending with all the goodies to be snapped up, and be early!!
I will have plenty of decals available as well.
It seems ,talking to the traders that the "Harvey" is sold out! as there is not one to be seen, and they have told me that it went like a hot cake in a snowstorm:D
Brock Targa ,2003 will be on special, as well as the XD Moffat, plus a large range of minicars
Jager has been seen shooting pics of all sorts of displays, already.

To those of you in Perth who attended the Model Auto Expo today - many thanks on behalf of the WAMCC.

While it is fresh in your mind I'd like to pass on to the committee some feedback to make the event even better next year. Please let me know what you thought of the following (either reply here or PM me).

Location :
What did you think of the location ? Should the Show alternate between a Northern suburbs location and a southern location every second year ?

What was your primary reason for attending :
View displays, swap meet bargains, meeting other collectors or some other reason ?

Displays :
What did you think of the overal standard of the displays ? Should there be more or less displays ? Should the displays be bigger or smaller ? Would you like to see more or less of any type of display ?

Value for money :
Did you find the day good value for money given the displays, swap meet, raffles prizes etc ?

Anything else you would like to see changed for next year ?

Thanks
Jager

Don't forget, please remember to support our sponsors Triking Model Cars, Stanbridges, Fremantle Model Cars, Perth Hobby Centre and the Pitstop Bookshop.

the show was great, location is great,
at $4 how could you get better value for money, the standard of the cars in the displays were good but the quality of the dioramas left a but to be desired, but hey, its a model car show not a diorama show :)

my main problem was with the guy in the red cheque shirt, what was with that shirt?? :D

nah, overall it was a great show, and well organised.

The show was great.
Picked up a couple of bargins while i was there and my son bought home a model fire truck that he is real happy about..It's already in the cabinet.I was only there for 1/2 an hour as my son had to go to soccer. It would have been good to have met some of you guys.
I like the look of the new releases due, especially the murph/kelly car.Another one to take my eye was the perkins vy from c.c.The engine detail, even at a distance, looked fantastic.
I would have liked to see more military aircraft on display but that wasn't to be.Maybe next year.
All in all top effort.I am already looking forward to the next one.

Hi Jager,

Didn't get to meet/see you but guessed that the JAGERMEISTER Racing display was yours....:D . Very good well done.

Now to answer your survey questions...

1. Keep the show where it is...its 5 mins from my place......;)

2. All the reasons you mention. Its a great all round sort of day.

3. Thought the show was good. I like it just the way it is and appreciate the time and effort you guys put in.

4. AS Chups said for $4 adults and kids for free, very good value for money. Its good also to get the newsletter/booklet thingie. Some good info in there.

Keep up the ggod work and looking forward to the next swap meet in August i think at the same place. Will have to save some more pennies up....

Cheers,
