I can not tell you exactly when, but if Minichamps bring it out, and they will, then BIANTE will get it in, unless it has illegal decals on it ,in this instance ,it does not have them on, so it will be here in the foreseable future.
I for one would love to add this one to the collection.

I can't wait for this car , it will look great next to my ALESI TAXI, plus it will beat exoto to releasing a FW14B although I'll still get the exoto .

Also do NOT forget to get the "Kimmy" first win ed. in 1/18, as this will be even more sought after in the goodness of time!

There is not a model issued as such, but there is a 2003 renault F1 model issued with a generic driver by 'Coldwheels' together with the decals from Toronto motorsport, one could make a winner for sure as a code 3 issue for one's self.

You're probably right about Kimi and Alonso's first win cars. They will be worth alot because it will never happen again :D .

One car in the 'Mansell collection' is the MP4-10 McLaren edition in 1/18 and also the LOLA indy car.
And while we are at it the Williams FW 16 with driver figurine in the car.
Then there is the Exoto Ferrari to top it off. these do make a very interesting collection issue.
So the 'Senna taxi' will be in good company and appreciared :)

Hey that would be a great model, it would be my first 1:18 f1 as I to have the 3 mark webbers 1:43 cars.

Thanks for the heads up.

Cheers

Mike

I am trying to only collect world championship winners but really would love this car.
Hey, Senna won in 1991 and he's riding on the car so maybe that would make it fit in! :D

If you are collecting worldchampions /cars, then this should take pride of place as this is the car that "El Lione" drove to the title, and the Silverstone race + the Qualifying effort that Nigel put in is still regarded like one of the VERY BEST, Nigel was Superhuman that weekend.
Senna was one of the first to admit this, that is why this will be a classic.
There has been a drawing/painting done of this in a limited ed. these are very sought after (the Senna Taxi at Silverstone.)

I vaguely remember this happening. Was it in 1991 or 1992?

No nothing like that at all, just pushed the wrong buttons.
I think that the lift was in 1991 and Nigel won the title in 1992 after Senna won it
This 2 min edit option is very restrictive to say the least.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it was '91, so the Senna link stands. Will have to get one now!

Interesting to see that the Minicahmps model (#540 911805) of Nigel Mansell's 'Senna Taxi' is still listed as "development approved" on the biante site, yet is currently available on ebay from several European sellers and from a few North American model stores.

Q for Admin - when will the model be available down under?

It's been available on eBay for something like 1-2 months, a very nice model indeed and one worth adding to your F1 collection, they look a lot better in the flesh that they do in the pictures ;)

I'll be in that. Have to keep in contact by phone though. No phone line for at least two weeks in the new house, means no internet.
Hyper soundsw good to me. I need to unwind after the last few weeks.

Not having access to ebay, etc at home is killing me! :(

Can anybody explain why this is still listed as development approved when it has been available in the UK for months?

Phil.

Possibly because the shipments to Australia have yet to be sent. Quite often we do not get releases for up to 6 months after Europe.

s/6 months/sometimes two years/

Which is sad, but then seeing as we're a long way from Aachen...

if you can't wait try eBay or a European distributor, I did & have had the car for months, plus I got mine for a lot cheaper that the advertised price in Australia ;)

Apparently we are getting the next production run. This will be the very first question I ask Minichamps on Thursday.

good to see Australia is high on their priority list  hence why I had to buy mine from overseas

I wonder if this will also appily to that list of F1 cars in another thread.....

I'm with you Brad. I prefer to buy locally, but that is pretty much a thing of the past for me now.
The shabby treatment we get from Minichamps down here means I will probably never buy another f1 model from an Australian source.

27-01-2007, 03:35 PM
If I was the minichamps distributor for Oz I'd be having strong words with them as they are certainly not giving the Australian collector the service they deserve......Even though we are a small market, we don't deserve to be treated so poorly.

Agree. They could also raise the point that being so far down the food chain is costing them sales.

Well I know I've bought a few minichamps 1/18 F1 cars from overseas in the past 6 months because they still haven't made it to Oz & I didn't want to miss out
