What drivers do you all think will be in williams in 2005?
Inter
They have a smorgasbord to choose from.
But my wild guess would be Webber and Gene with Dixon as test driver.

Funny, Jenson's hat was in the ring to go back not long ago. I bet that wont happen now:D

Jenson already said why would he go back and I must say I agree with him.
He really seems to be 'gelling' that team around him. I was never a big fan of the guy (always thought Courtney deserved a run in F1 before him), but dispatching Villeneuve and his performance this year have really changed my mind.
Must admit to now being a fan!

Is it April Fools day and nobody told me? What is going on in F1 news this week?
Luca Di wotzisname saying Ferrari may pull out of F1 at the end of the current Concorde agreement and Craig Pollock hinting that Villeneuve is a big chance to drive for Williams in 2005.
This is doing my head in. Next thing I'll be reading that Skoda are entering Formula One and that Attila the Hun is lead driver with Elvis designing the chassis.

Good point Wayno. I'm sure Alain Prost has to be in the mix as well!!!

Webber needs to start producing the results that his performance hints at. If he doesn't he'll never get past the 2nd tier. Why would Williams want Villenueve back? He was a problem the whole time he was there when he produced and his performance the whole time with Honda was less than sub par.Coultard has already proven he can't get the job done as far as a championship stand point. They need to look outside of the current line up of drivers. Like it or not Ralf is a better choice to stay with the team but probably won't happen. What I'd like to see is Barricello get a shot with a top team as number one driver. I think he has earned that with his performance. Plus the thought of a all Schumacher Ferrari team sounds interesting to me.

Mate if the bloody s***box de-facto F*** he's driving could complete a race distance without crapping itself when it gets near the points then he would.
Webber is a VERY talented man and will prove this in the Williams or the Renault next year.
Do you guys get the same F1 races we do? Or do you get an alternative 'directors cut' with a new ending?

Hey I know Webber has talent. He is bloody quick in qualifing nearly ever race. But damn he throws the car off the track nearly every week when the car doesn't crap the bed. He is also not held in the highest light by other drivers who had the Webber "chop" applied to them. I would like nothing more to see him in a top ride but he has to start getting the car to the finish in the points or they will pass him by.

Do you even watch Formula One?

Every Race ,So what is your point ? Look I'm not bagging Webber, just making a observation. In Fact I watch practice and Qualifing along with the races themselves. I know alot of people who can't look objectively at this as they just want to see their boy do good. I would love to see him win races and a championship. I get the Speed channel feed that has David Hobbs and Steve Machett calling the race. I can only tell you what they are commenting on during the race . So if you want to shoot the messenger ,go ahead and load your guns .

You get to watch the practice and qualifing, i wish wa could do that. Half your luck xa351gt.
Is this on cable tv? Does any body know if the prctice and qualifing is available on oz cable channels?

I think webbers doing a good job. Its only a few races in and he's had ano off and done a stupid move, but last race he had a mechanical prob (running on 7 cylinders). So you can't say he's not producing the results yet.

Yeah where I live Speed Channel is part of our basic cable system. Some cable companys offer it as part of the higher tiered channels. So I'm lucky i don't have to pay extra for it. They also show us the V8s in a 2 hour highlight fashion from Nov to Feb.
Who broadcasts F1 in Oz? Speed is part of the FOX Sports family.

You can get to see qualifying in Aus if you have a sat dish, but not sure of the details. I just go to a pub in Melb I've found that shows it live on Sat night (going again on the 8th).
Great excuse for a night out and a few pints (english style pub)!
My point didn't quite come across right, but to say Webber throws it off the circuit 'nearly every week when the car doesn't crap itself' is just a little too broad a generalisation in my humble opinion.

Agreed,
Webber is a great talent . My point simply was he needs to minimize those little errors that are keeping him out of the points. He and the car will get better and he'll be a serious threat. If he gets the chance to jump to a better team he will almost certainly get better results. Williams' often questionable treatment of it's drivers has me a bit worried if he lands there. But I would like nothing more than to see Webber be the next Aussie World Champ.
I live in Singapore and get the live feed of qualifying and the races on Star Sports.
I have not heard many bad comments about Webber at all. Quite the contrary...they put him up in the top tier of talent currently in F1. Apparently most of the team principals rate him very highly aswell.
As too him carving up the competition...this is F1 not club cars. Look at the previous best racing talent in F1, Schumacher, Senna, Villeneuve, Mansell etc. These guys have carved up more than their fair share in the past.
IMHO

I think the star sports feed is the one they intercept where I watch it. Just wish I could understand what they were saying!
