Hi, a friend of mine had his house burged over the weekend 01/05/04. Stolen naturally were most of his Biante/Autoart model cars. Gone are Moffat XC federation, Moffat XD, No2 car of the Moffat twin set, Johnson XD Bathurst winner, Lowndes 1st ford and the 1st green eyed monster. One Claasic Collectable John Brigg Cat AU.Also taken was the No1 car of the moffat twin set and the first Johnson greens tuff XE, both found over the back fense, both damaged. Moffat, Johnson and Lowndes cars are all signed on the roof by the drivers mentioned. No boxes or certificates were stolen as the were somewhere else within the house.
Email me directly if you hear anything please.

It sounds like they don't know much about the value of these models if they threw away the first Johnson XE and split the Moffat twinset.

the mongrels probably just chucked them in a big bag so i'd say they'd all be damaged:(

NO BLOODY REPECT!!!!!!!!!!

To drop them over the back fence they obviously were not mdel collectors, i suppose now they are just selling them for a few bucks anyway.

As long as he was insured for there real value, was he???

Cheers

Should be open season on LOW LIFE"s like this,,,,,, again this re-inforces the practice of keeping COA's stored well away from models...
Anyhow I hope they catch these s-um,,, but unfortunately it probably won't happen and if they do they'll get a smack on the rist....

I certainly hope he was insured,....

I really hope your mate has a good insurance co. & policy ...
unfortunately this poor guy is really in a no win situation whether he has insurance or not , because if the insurance pays out will they pay the appreciated value of each models worth as to the present value , then will he be able to re-purchase the models in the condition to that of the stolen ones.
even if he can , It's going to take quite some time to do this and then there are the signitures to try and get again .

everybody here knows how costly, time consuming and even sometimes frustrating it can be putting a collection together , hunting down particular models and getting the autographs etc. and also the appreciation a collector has for the models in their collection .

Then to have some thoughtless mongrel take this away from him for a few bucks, without thinking of the devestation they cause .
I hope they get what they deserve !!! The lowlife scum ...

If he has insurance I hope they do the right thing by him , and I wish him luck in rebuilding his collection.

regards

Jim.

Jim,

You insure to today's value to replace the models in a convenient manner...i.e. somewhere that has most of your models...even if you pay more than market value. Remember the insurance company pays, and convenience is worth more than cheap prices...

But, there is no way of buying the signatures, they will have to be re-acquired...

Cheers

Hi people, The models were insured, but they were all isured as a "lot" rather than individually. We will see what happens

I would suggest check on ebay, if you see one that might be yours, check out his other auctions, if he is selling more than one of your models then it could be the guy/girl. Simply win the auction and ask to mail your payment, then just rock up on the doorstep and open uo a can of wooooooop ass !!!

I would then go to your local cash converters, they might have tried to or did sell them there, if they say no then the theif might have sold something else at the same time, they would have the contact details there too.

By spliting the moffat twin set one may just get their money back !
