I going for a tour of the showroom in Belmont tomorrow. Is anyone else going, or has anyone else gone on one? I'll take my camera and take a few shots for you guys over east who can't make it. It's about time us guys in the west had a break anyway, most of the good stuff is over there (summernats, car shows, music acts etc...)

Is this an 'open' visit or a private visit ?

Admin, any chance of a few other locals joining the tour tomorrow ?

I was lurking in the Biante carpark (taking photos of Trevor's road car) a couple of years ago, after the Barbegello round. This was at the old site, when Bev came out and invited my wife and myself in for an impromptu tour, it made my trip to WA that year :) :)

Next time I get over there I'll have to see if I can get to have a look at the new site.

I'm sure I said so at the time, but thanks again Bev, it was really nice of you to show us around, it was greatly appreciated

I emailed Bev and she said the were having public tours this Wed, Thurs & Friday from 10 to 11am. However you have to book. Give her an email and she will let you know when the next batch of tours will be.

Damn , i'd love a tour of the new Biante site !!!
But unfortunately living all the way down in South Australia , It's just a little bit far to travel .

biante 1762 ..
Some piccies would be great as us guy's down here in adelaide Don't have many venues here ourselves.

as far as model companies , we have C.C's here but the stingy Barstards don't even sell models from there factory let alone host tours of their site , they only distribute to shops therefore you don't get the same customer support and product information as is available from Biante .

Anyhow I hope you guy's able to attend the tour's have fun & enjoy yourselves .
I'm sure some of you won't be able to resist buying up big ...

cheers

Jim.

No chance of that as there is a decent security door out the "back"!!

Jim,

I have been to Classics and picked up some stuff and to be honest there is nothing to look at. It’s a huge building with an office downstairs and design department upstairs. Out the back there is a saw room and service department and a massive warehouse as they are the largest hobby distributor in Australia.

Any time I have need parts for my Classics models they have been very helpful so I don’t know why you said they are not helpful because they don’t sell direct to the public.

Also they have a collectors club that sends out colour newsletters with upcoming models during the year.

I guess Biante can host showroom tours as they only deal in model cars.

You will not get a forklift throug the rollerdoor at this adress either, it has been taken care off as well.
The security at BIANTE is top notch.

Lets just keep it on the fact that you are able to tour and see the inside world of model development and be guided through this by very nice and helpfull people who do treat you like a King plus the fact that they do this for free!
This is because the owners are Modelcollectors as well and from way back.

I love a tour of Biante, but I cant make it to Belmont. Perhaps Admin could make a video tour for those of us who live in The East. May be Admin could place it on the Club website then anyone who is interested could stream it to their computers:)
