Which car crashed into the trees in the shootout on the eve of Bathurst ?

Also what year was it?

The only car i remember hitting the trees would be the Dick Johnson XE Falcon 'Greens Tuf' in 1983 , in the top 10 shootout on the saturday .....:)

No not at all Y2J. some guy from ebay was telling me it was the 1984 car thats why i asked the question.

Lots of cars have hit trees and even camera platforms over the years in their quest to go arround Bathurst fast:)
It was the 1983 Hardies Hero's shoot out that made Dicks machine a battered wreck and is in model terms the second edition of the XE ,the one with the multi coloured ring arround the race number. Drivers Johnson /Bartlett.
The other one is the Johnson / French edition.1984
