This from the Herald-Sun
HEAVY rain across NSW today caused flash flooding with the weather bureau warning of heavy winds along the coast.
The State Emergency Services (SES) said it had received 250 calls for help from across the State.
The worst-hit areas so far were Gosford and Wyong on the central coast.
SES spokeswoman Laura Goodin said they had received reports of flash flooding, water in lower levels of car parks and fallen trees.
SES volunteers were responding to calls with the help of the NSW Fire Brigade and Rural Fire Service.
A severe weather warning was in place with strong winds expected in central western NSW. Reports had already been received of roof damage coming from Bathurst, Lithgow and Orange.
Winds of more than 65kph and peaking up to 90kph were expected to lash the coast between Wollongong and Newcastle this afternoon.
The SES advised people to park their cars under cover and away from trees, keep children away from flooded creeks and drains and keep a battery-operated radio nearby.
