Well it seems that a couple of the teams are going to make changes to their regular war colours for next weekend.

Russell Ingall's Caltex Havoline car is now becoming the Caltex Vortex racer as he will be promoting their premium fuel rather than oil & this will remain for the rest of the championship (more details here (http://www.v8supercar.com.au/news/latestnews/news display.asp?Ind=M&gid=13102)).

Murph & Rick are also going for a livery change & this will be reviled to co-inside with the opening of the new pit facalities at Bathurst (more details here (http://bathurst.local-e.nsw.gov.au//news/1096353999_22649.html)).

I wonder if there will be any others, which reminds me. Will BJ & JB's Ozemail car be black or white ???

cheers. :)

I think the Jones / Bowe car will be the black #12 car

although I dont know, I could swear theyve used a black #21 car before

I dunno, but I'm sure it'll be black

PS I'm certain HRT's will remain the same (unlike Sandown 2003 when they had racing on new mobil 1 whatever), otherwise Biante will have a fair few angry Brock fans after they assured us the model we recieve will be the replica of Brocks car! lol

New liveries sounds good to me as it will add some variety to the photo collection. Will endeavour to take less than a yeear to post some shots from the mountain this time!

Murph & Kelly will not be in #51 !!!

Instead they'll be running in Rick's #15 car. I wonder if this means Rick will be the dominant driver doing most of the qualifying & the shoot out (should they make it) ???

It will certainty be interesting.........

Only 3 more sleeps until the hit the track, I can't wait.

cheers. :)

Makes snse. That way if they win again this year, KRT will still have the Bathurst Winning Number on there car next year...

Remember 51 is going to PWR...

Team Dynamik have released a new Dodo livery that they will run for the rest of the season. See pics http://www.v8central.com/snitz3403/topic.asp?TOPIC _ID=8163here:http://www.v8central.com/snitz3403/to pic.asp?TOPIC_ID=8163 (http://)

I guess by using a white car as the base colour for the livery, the next time they take the logo's off to go testing it could be a bit harder to work out which team it's from.......

cheers. :D

ok my opinions ...

Kmart firstly ...

personally I dont think it matters which car the boys are in. To the best of my knowledge it was agreed by rick and greg, rick qualifies at sandown, greg at bathurst

As for the reasoning, I spose it makes sense that should #15 win Kmart retain it, if it is true that Greg is taking #51 (and I cant see why not)

I still want to see what theirs will look like.

Off topic does this mean PWR will be #50 and #51 and Kmart #15 and #16 next year????

Dynamik definately looks 150% better. I liked last years car in both pre bathurst and post bathurst livery (that is white/black, silver/black and world industries sponsorhip)

I never liked this years from the word go, they killed it totally BUT the white DODO car does look mean. I think all white VY's look mean, but thats my opinion!

SBR Vortex looks alright from the pic, nothing too spectacular! Still it looks better then last years Caltex, or was that Pirtek, sponsored car!

No Murphy will do the top ten shootout as Rick did the top ten shoot out for Sandown (which why he is credited for having his first ever pople position)

agreed there the 2004 team dynamik cars did look **** and in my own opinion they still look like ****.
if classics does make this car what will it look like.
1st it had roadships on the side.
2nd then the side was blank.
3rd they have the dodo sponsor on the car.
i think the back of the car should have dodo on it, the middle of the car should have road ships on it , and the front of the car should be blank, in that way every sponsor they had over the year gets included on their models.;) :p

wasn't it also sponsered by black 3M duct tape at one stage!!!

I think the car looked better at Sandown then the latest paint job. They should of worked with the livery they had at sandown but tweaked it a little. But the current livery makes them look like a real team and not a livery that has been thrown together at the last minute. The current livery needs the dodo bird on it.

well they might of been, maybe for one round or so because i never saw it.
when they make the models maybe they could stick 3M duct tape sponsor over the front window.:D
it wont make any difference, dale brede drives his commodore like something is blocking his windscreen anyway.:p

dont forget the holy grail sponsership they had as well and i believe they will only be making simon wills car if any

Leigh

Roadships, Holy Grail, 3M and now DoDo (did I miss any) have all graced the side of the Team Dynamik cars this season.

With the lack of a Gold/primary/naming rights sponsor Team Dynamik rotated their Silver sponsors through the prime position subject to which sponsors had a corporate presence at the track.

Holy Grail was supposed to be a primary sponsor, but went belly up and apparently never paid...

I personnaly think the Dodo car should be made...

Cheers

We're talking about the real cars at Bathurst. The K Mart team will be running a new livery for Bathurst and are unveiling it today.
We're not talking about the model version.

HSV has always been on the front bar (http://www.kmartracing.com.au/kmart/2004/round5/i mages/image10.htm#)

Saw it in AutoAction. It only had a picture of the front though so not sure what the rest of the car is like. Above the KMart on the bonnet in all that white space there is spiderman and his web and near the drivers side 'toy sale'.

If I had it with me I would scan it in and post a picture...

Look at the second picture, Owen/Leahey are in car 51, and Murph/Kelly in 15 like they said.

I am not a fan of the car, what would it look like as a model.

I've got to say I like the new Spidy verson of the K-Mart cars - anything that get rid of that bloody helmet has got to be good !!!

Murph is in #15, possibly because if they win on the weekend they would prefure it to be in #15 considering that Murph will be taking his #51 with him to PWR.

I would certantly like to see this car made by Biante in 1:43.

cheers. :)

That seems to be a pretty reasonable position by a lot of people.

I guess it's the sheer outlay for the larger (& more detailed) model that has people happy to settle for the smaller scale when there are only minor differences in the livery.

Perhaps it's something at admin may choose to look into what they return from the mountain, as I definately think there is a place for limited run (say max 1000 units) 1:43 cars.

I'm sure there were quite lot of happy HRT people earlier when admin released the Sandown 500 winner, so perhaps this could become another smaller series for Biante to pursuit ???

cheers.

Great idea Brad but would it be 1000 only of the Murphy/Kelly car or a twin set.
I collect Murphs cars in 1:43rd so I'd be happy with just his model.
Doesn't look like we'll ever see the 2003 cars though apart from the Bathurst winner.:(

Personally, I don't really like twin sets, etc...., mainly becasue I usualy only want one of the cars & you'd get stuck with two, but you can't please everyone.

Unfortuntly I too feel that we'll only ever see the Bathurst car as the only 2003 Murph Commodore, by admin did say they would make it, so you never knw, may be later down the track.......but as time passes it does seem that it's been cut from the menu - hopefully I'm wrong ;)

I'd also like to see a Sandown 500 3rd place car as for a DJR fan, this was a very big occusion !!!

But by the same token, you'd hope that Bathurst editions don't become the norm as they've got to be careful not to flood the market as well. I guess it's something that if there is enought interest (from collectors & the teams) perhasp they might come.

cheers. :)

V8SS
08-10-2004, 09:09 AM
Totally agree with everything you said. Especially about flooding the market with Bathurst versions. Might be acceptable if teams changed their liveries radically for Bathurst but I don't think the addition of the Spiderman is that wild.
I'll go and contradict myself though and say that if a Bathurst no. 15 car was done, I'd buy it.:p
