 Iam a huge fan of Australian Motor Racing and a keen collector of models and memorabelia of my favorite pastime. There is nothing better than looking at some the great examples of Australian Touring Cars, past and present that have been made into great models. Johsons Green's Tuff XE, Moffats XY's, Bocks XU1's etc.
But can anybody explain to me why Brocks "yet to be driven"Targa Monaro" is part of the "Brock Collection". Yes it should be produced, and yes it will sell but I don't think it belongs with such a long list of classic Touring Cars (and maybee sports sedans!!!!) that Peter raced in those memorable years from 1968 to 1997.
I know I am not the only one who thinks this. What do you think?

So if Peter drove at Bathurst this year in a V8supercar, it shouldn't be in the "Brock Collection"? Get real.

There is a big diferance between Bathurst and Targa Tasmania. Peter Retired from Profesional Motorsport as a driver in 1997 and now, as allways is a great ambasidor to his sport. And I hope he keeps involved for many many years.
But if he does go to Bathurst this year it wont be as a driver. If he does then yes it would!
What if the Monaro breaks down on the first stage of Targa?

This is a hard one to take sides on, on one hand the monaro wasn't a part of Brock's 30yr race history.
But on the other hand any model with Brocky's name on it would be welcome in my collection,so I will just sit on the fence with this one.
I would like to see a twin set of the Brock / Johnson challange cars from the 2002 AGP

Its the Brock Collection, not "the cars Brock drove throughout his life, except one or two because he didnt drive them at bathurst and win....bla bla bla"
I also have a brochure here for one of the Torana's which states: "As part of the ongoing Brock Collection...."
Brocky may have stated he is retired once before, but if he is racing in a factory backed team, he aint retired yet.

This is a free world and if you think that you do not want this model then ......well do not purchase it or put it in another spot i.e. with the modern roadcars or so
it is part as far as I am concerned of the cars that Peter is /has competed in and now even with his son
together with the news coming up shortly (I suspect) the choice is easy
We ,the collectors ,have done without any decent aussie racecar model for to long . I enjoy this abundance of choice very much indeed

I think if it's a car that Brocky Has driven in any competitive event or had any signifigance in his career (Retired or ongoing) it should be part of HIS collection, as the name Peter Brock Collection suggests, not Peter Brock/Touring Car Collection, I also think that the HDT Road cars should be included in the collection as Those cars provided much needed funds for the HDT race team, and were very much a big part of Peter's life in that era. Just because a car is part of the collection it doesn't mean you have to buy it, I buy models that I want, not just because they are part of a collection.
Also bring on the Targa XU1 & SS Ute from 99 & 2001

Brocks driving it, thats all I know. Some of the Moffat collection cars wern't very successful either, but were a part of his career. Maybe by driving in the targa rally he has/will secure sponsorship for his own team with his son and Harrop.
Im just wandering what will happen if there is ever a Lowndes or Skaife collection. Will previously released models count or what?
And what about the Brock/Moffat Mobil Commodore? ...., just keep making the top quality cars and I will get the ones I can...:p

Yep, it definetly should not have joined the Brock Collection YET.
Were up to the A9X Brock models so the commodores should be next.
He has not even raced this monaro yet so it should not be joining the Brock collection Yet, not at number 5 anyway :)

I didn't want it to get political, but what the hell?
At least it gets the thread back to the top of the list and we got one more vote. Come in Spinner!!!!!

well let's forget the politics then and again get your
initial good subject to the top.
I guess if the poll was going like: [YES] , [NO] , [FENCE SITTER] you would have a lot more votes ;)
People are just being carefull, or politically correct, or both :D
