I'm not one to blow smoke out of ones backside, but Biante has produced a really fine model with the Dick Johnson Sierra. The car in my opinion would have to be one of the best to date. The weight in this model is phenominal which shows the amount of quality in it. Also like the added "plastic roof" in packaging, nice touch biante. Job well done.

By the way im a Holden Fan :)

I agree with Paul entirely.

The plastic cover was a nice touch for postage.

It stops our models getting damaged in transit.

It has me baffled how Biante can improve on the Sierra..

I will wait and see.

Excellent job, Biante.

Congrats to the whole Biante team.

I can not believe that this car and the new Moffat car have sso many little tweaks in them> a bit hard to put on paper but I think I have noticed a few changes.

Am I correct in saying this?

Doesnt more weight mean less quality? And less weight more quality? I think i saw Admin say this in a thread somewhere... might be wrong tho!

Hi Fordboy

You are correct in saying that, this is what Admin had to say in another thread called "Progress of diecast making" all about producing models:

"Contary to popular belief, the lighter the model, the better the quality of the casting.
It is all really to do with the shape of the car. It is very hard to eject an XY body shell if we try to make the sides a consistent 1.5mm thick due to the big variance in dimensions (width) between the bottom of the door and where the bottom of the window is. So we need to have a thicker casting in the middle to smooth out the shape so to speak. On a Commodore, the shape is fairly regular, so the whole bit can be the same thickness and hence less metal and less weight.
When we made the first Autoart Land Rover model, it was so light (due to the straight up and down sides), I wouldnt believe it was metal at first. It runs out at under 1mm thick. Because most people associate "quality" with weight, we added ballast to make it "feel right"."

Yeah thought so! So is that why the 1:64th are so light, such awesome casting.... :D :p
