Try these shops:

Toyworld, 5 Barrier St. Fyshwick

Fisher Discounts, 68 Barrier St. Fyshwick (this is a hardware shop but go down to the back on the left side and you will find some models. Also when you first walk in the door go up the stairs)

Monaro Models & Hobbies, 180 Crawford St. Queanbeyan.

Rock Wallaby at the Tugerranong shopping center. (Hyperdome)

There is also a shop in Phillip which has a few Diecast.
Happy hunting.

Monaro Models & Hobbies in Crawford St in Queanbeyan ask for Plucka (tell him that Ken sent you and he'll look after you)
Rock Wallaby in Tuggeranong ask for Geoff
Fisher Discounts (Tool Shop) in Barrier St (ask for John) in Fyshwick and
Toy world also in Barrier St in Fyshwick a bit pricey but they have a good range.

Have fun in the home of the over governed. I hope your trips worth it.

Good Hunting, whoops I mean Collecting :)

Hey inter,
Where do you think the best place to go in Sydney is? I'm heading up there this weekend.
Thanks Lachlan.

Lachlan,
For the best selection the best place would be Sheriffs in Parramatta ( a little pricey).
For a good selection at a rrp Automodels in clyde.

To be truth full i buy 90% of my models from Terry at past and present model cars in the central coast. Very honest and helpfull.

Yoyworld has always been pricey & they won't haggle hence they hold a lot of stock for lengthy periods of time where as Geoff at RockWallaby will move a little (sometimes a lot) if you ask politely. If you're rude, you've got buckleys.

I found that Monaro Models & Hobbies will match any price in the country provided the Store still has stock (the one you are comparing them to).

I've bought 10's of 000's of $$$ worth of model from a variety of suppliers around the country & only recommend those whom I've had positive experieces with.:)

I deal with Toyworld only as a last resort. I find the Staff NOT to have any useful product knowledge & they can be VERY rude. The owner only appears to be interested in VOLUMNE sales:(

Well considering how "FEW" diecast shops there are in canberra, I thought it was highly unlikely that there would be two diecast shops in the same street.

Although I have to agree Rock Wallaby is good, Geoff is willing to negotiate a bit if your umming and ahhing. Toyworld is nothing special as mentioned before. Only been to Monaro models once, prices looked good, couldnt stay long. Truth be told though I by a few models on ebay too.

Why? What happened? No names, no pack-drill. I've only been over there once or twice a long time ago. It turned me off when they took 10 weeks to reply to an email enquiry & then got huffy when I told 'em I got the model elswhere.
It's all about personalities, too. I've always been happy with Toyworld, but sometimes found Fisher's a little impersonal & not easy to deal with.
Toyworld have CC 1/43 Ford:Capri, Mustang, Escort & Model T for $20-00 right now. Must get over there.:)
