I know what the Biante returns policy is as per FAQ, but what happans if the consumer wants to exchange a faulty product and there is no more available ?
The reason I ask this question is to do with the Models like the Johnson Sierra that sell out within hours of sale. Does Biante keep a certain amount of new releases aside for these types of problems? I would hate to keep a model that has a fault just because there were no more left. I'm also talking about Models that are bought from other dealers other than Biante, that if we returned the faulty goods to the Dealer and the Dealer did'nt have spare models for exchange, what happens? I know that the dealer can claim it back from Biante, but what happens if there are none left, would Biante fix the problem with the faulty model that was bought?I know the Consumer Act protects the consumer and there is a refund clause if the product is faulty, but most of us collectors probably don't want a refund but another Model.
What happens in these cases??

You get your money back, and no doubt the model will be sold to someone less picky at a discount rate.

When you get your money refunded, double it, and find one on the second hand market.

from memory of a previous discussion i think richard said that a couple of cars are kept aside just in case a replacement is required

What I want to know is, if Biante don't have any spare models do they offer a "Fix It" service. As a collector I wouldn't want my money back when, especially in light in what has happened in the Johnson Sierra's case where I would have to pay nearly double my money to get a replacement.

Send it back, and miss out on the model, or fix it yourself...

I wondered abou that, as my VL SS came with a very dodgy rear door window (firmly glued/fixed in, but very skewed). I haven't wanted to fix it myself in case I REALLY stuff up - shattered plastic etc. And of course I live on the other side of the world, so it has seemed too much hassle to send it back (not to Biante but to the shop I ordered it from). So at the moment I just display it with the duff side at the back!

Unfortunately, we do not have a bunch of service centres around the country like real cars for warranty work.
All we can do is honour the Federal law policy of "replacement or money back" which we gladly do. If we have none left, all we can do is refund your cash.
Tough decision I know as I have been collecting for over 40 years.
I have a Yesteryear car worth $3500 and as they only issued 144 of them, no one gives a hoot if its got a perfect box, has a small chip or has a minor paint blemish. Its rare and everyone wants one, so why would you send it back and get your $14.95 refunded!!
Your decision.
