Since reading an earlier forum topic & seeing Admin's reply stating that all Peter Brock's sedan cars will be made, I have been intrigued by how the 1987 Bathurst winner will be produced.

If my memory serves me correctly, the '05' car expired & Brocky jumped into the second car (number 10??) & finished the race in this car. This raises the question - which number car will be produced?

I'd assume it would be the '05' car, but I'd be interested to hear others view on what they think might 'get the nod'.

A twin set of these two would be great.

If only one was made, it would have to be the number 10 winner, with the 05 car being of relatively little importance.

How about both of these cars, I my opinion, still the best looking commodore.

Isn't that another one of those races that the silly rules allowed Peter to jump into the No 10 Car??

I think the twin set idea is a good one as both cars are in fact significant Brock cars.

Hi All,

I think a twin set would be great also, even though the 05 VL only completed 34 laps (due to blowing an engine) it was still a great looking car and played a part in the history of the race. Brock and Parsons took over the number 10 VL from 13th position at the time to 3rd across the line to eventually be named winners after the disqualification of the Texaco Sierra's.

I would also like to see the 1983 05 VH made as part of a twin set as this was an awesome looking car and it was in a different type of Marlboro livery to the 25 car which eventually won. The 05 car of 1983 had the "secret" Australia 2 keel sitting on the boot on the start line all in good fun, but only completed 8 laps of the race before it dropped an engine. Brock and Perkins then took over the 25 car in 5th position driven by Harvey and Phil Brock of which Phil didn't get to drive on the way to victory.

And of course, I would love to see the glorious Day Glo HDT VK's of 1984 done as a twin set for the first Holden team 1-2 win at the mountain just as Moffat had done for Ford 7 years earlier.

What do you guy's think?

Cheers, Jason

Count me in.

All three twin sets would be a great addition to any collection.

Whilst the idea of a twin pack does naturally appeal to some, I think there are others who might prefer to have a choice as to whether they want to collect the Bathurst winner or the actual Brock 05 car.

1984's Brock / Harvey 1-2 at Bathurst would make a perfect Holden Twin Set to rival the upcoming 1977 Moffat / Bond set.
Trouble is that cigarette sponsorship limitations will spoil the effectiveness of any HDT car models (1974-1984).

I don't see any real worth in doing models of the two 1987 HDT cars when the "05" car didn't manage to finish the race.
Of course , although Brock did drive the number 10 car in 1987 , it didn't feature his name as a driver on the front guards. But, there are "Brock-HDT " logos on the windscreen and front guards so his association with the car is still obvious.

Sidepoint : When Brock's cars arrived at Bathurst in the days leading up to the race, they wore blue side and bonnet patches with white 05 and 10 numbering. As the 1987 race was a World Champ. race with FISA control, the heavies decreed that all cars must run black numbers on a white background. The Brock cars were hurriedly modified for the race such that keen observers will note that the ten on the drivers side of the winning car had a crooked zero ( A special note for Biante Admin !! ).
