I noticed that Brock's 1988 BMW M3 isn't on the list of models in the Brock collection (see FAQ's). Obviously the limited success Brock had with the car (5th in the ATCC & DNF @ Bathurst) doesn't inspire Biante to rush out and spend $350,000 tooling up for this model.

However, Minichamps have announced they will produce a number of 1/18 scale BMW M3's from the '87 & '88 German Touring Car Championship. Presumably it wouldn't be too difficult therefore to get Minichamps do do the BMW on behalf of Biante just as they did with the DJR Sierra. Perhaps they could also do the stunning 'JPS' BMW of Jim Richards as well.

Here a link to the press release about Brock driving for BMW for those of you who have forgotten what the car looked like.

The question is "How many should they make ?'

I hope this car is released by biante. Please Please.
I hope this is a wanted car, as it would be good if minichamps could make it for biante, and us brock model collectors.

What's this; a model of VOLVO Peter Brock is not wanted?
Minichamps has already made this model in 1/43!
how can we have a BROCK collection without the Bimmer and the pensioners dream mobile ?
Sooooo I would like to see the Ikea special sit in my Ikea cabinet ,please!?
next to my trabant , NSU TTS and Simca RallyII .

I think there are two differences between the BMW & Volvo. On the demand side, the BMW was driven by Brock in the ATCC whereas not many V8 fans appreciated the Supertourers series in Australia where Brock drove the Volvo. Hence I think interest inthe BMW would be greater.

Secondly, on the production side Minichamps have already produced the mould for the BMW thus making the Brock model possible. At present their isn't a mould available for the Volvo and limited demand from Aussie collectors for this car (although Minichamps could also produce the BTCC versions as they did in 1/43).

Then why not the old Austin A40 that Brocky built up and raced first? (Well I think it was an A40)

I think his son built one up the same as dad.

It was an Austin A30 and from what I've been told it has already been made in 1:43 by Dinkum Classics.

The one that I do have is a Revell metal orange in colour and the part number is 08413.,1/18
I did own one of these before comingt to Australia.
I am still looking for at least two more cars namely
Simca Rally I orange andRally II flurogreen
and the original BMW 2000 angled front and Back
maybe also a Citroen AMI plus a Renault 6TL
These were the sort of cars common in the old world and nothing more than 2000 cc plus most only 1000cc He He!!but plenty of REVS and NOISE!!! :D

Just while we're on the subject on Brock's non-Holden touring cars, I'd love to see the Brock Sierra he drove in the last 80s. I think it'll look a little ironic in anyone's Brock collection and spice it up. :)
