Hi guys!

I picked up this car from my dealer last night in person. Funny enough, it is only a 20 minute drive but the missus was a little annoyed that it took almost 2 hours for me to get back to pick up one car. She should know that I like to take my time browsing through the models.

I snagged the last copy of Biante's XB GT #10 Melford / Bathurst 1000 ( Biante Exclusive ) LE (1/3000 ) driven by Richards , Jim / Coppins , Rod.

I haven't had too much time to look at it but it is a NICE car. I know it is not too significant Bathurst-wise, but it's a beauty. My only 'niggle,' to use a German friend's word, is the driver's side (right-hand) window trim on the top of the door by the sideview mirror seems to have a slight gap between the trim and the body. The location of the gap is about a centimeter away from the sideview mirror. The gap itself is only about maybe a millimetre but it makes me want to push the trim down to flatten it agains the body, but of course it doesn't move. Also there is a slight crimp on the top of the trim closer to the door latch. It is smooth and flat on the 'passenger side,' though. I checked out the Shell Goss Falcon XA GT and several copies had this very slight gap. Do you guys notice this on your copies? I know I am just being anal, but I'm curious.

By the way, can anyone give me more information on the Melford XB GT? Thanks in advance.

my moffat xa is also a little ratty around this area. i would imagine because the strip on the original car is not real wide it was very hard to actually scale it and fit it around the mirror properly..

i have the same problems on a few of the newer falcons thats been released.i have noticed the change in the chrome trim from the older releases like the moffat brut33, johnson xc #17 and others. i relly noticed it on the tango orange street car and the melford xb and moffat xa the most. the moffat was really not what i expected it was going to be after the long wait, very dissapointed with the quality on this one. :o

Thanks mates!

So it sounds like a few of the Falcon Gt's have this problem. Ok. I don't feel so nitpicky then. As it was the last one, I was wondering if other copies would have a better example of this area being unblemished. Probably not. I hope that Biante improves their QC in some areas. Generally speaking most of their cars are fantastic..

Cheers! Will

Hi Wilbo.

Sorry it has taken me so long to reply to your question.

I have managed to have a look at a couple of the XA models here and it looks like the chrome strip on top of the drivers door is being pushed back by the door mirror. It could be as little as the thickness of the paint that is doing this.

I have notified the factory and they will endeavour to rectify this slight problem on future models.

Thankyou for bringing this to our attention.

Best regards.

Richard.

Hi Richard!

Thanks for the response. I appreciate it. It is awesome when a company acknowledges a problem and resolves to do something about it! Believe it or not, there are other diecast companies out there who get offended sometimes when you bring up points about quality control.

Cheers! Will from Canada.
