Thanks Paul, my worst fears realised, why does this happen ? my dealer tells me that they normaly come in an envelope with the box of six, his two boxes were sealed and no envelope.
It is not good when you purchase a model and receive no brochure. I will now be at the mercy of the sharks on eBay to get one.

Every box of 6 got 6 brochures! Tell your store owner to look in the box.
Why would we print 6000 at a cost of $2000 and then not put them in??
There is no envelope because with road cars there is no signed certificate.

Brent,
Before the ebay sharks get you, try ringing Biante, I am sure that they will have some spares.

A polite request to Biante might rectify your dilemma, worth a try
The Blue Torana is the Best yet,was amazed that it had chamois Interior which looks great, similar in contrast appeal to the wild violet XY.

Well I take your point admin, I agree that you would of course provide the brochures with the box after spending $2000 for 6000 brochures and we all know there are a lot of shark dealers out there and while I hope that my dealer is not one of them he could be for all I know. I know this topic has been touched on before however eBay is proof that there is some one or a lot of dealers out there not passing on the brochures and then cleaning up on eBay by auctioning these brochures. One way to discourage this practice could be to put the brochure in the box of the actual model because it seems to easy for these people to simply pick up the supplied brochures wheather in an envelope or not and keep them on the side.

wayne's right brent. It's not worth paying $$$ for brochures you should have anyway. I'd go back to your supplier and get them to chase back up the order.

Great idea diecastdude, but have you ever opened 1000 boxes and then unpacked 6000 models and then opened all of them?
And then shut 6000 models, repacked with all the tissue paper and card inserts into 1000 cartons and then taped each one up??
It takes 4 people 3 days to do.
Surely the shops can hand out a leaflet to everyone who buys a model...they make more than the manufacturer and the supplier combined and all thats all they have to do....maybe we expect too much!!

I do occasionally buy my models from www.scale18.com This is the only outlet in the North America that carries Biante products. Kevin, the guy who owns the store is a very reputable retailer. He told me that he never got a single Brochure from Biante. Furthermore, sometimes he doesn't even get certificates. I do believe Kevin since in the US and Canada there are very few Binate collectors, so he simply won't be able to make extra dough just by auctioning the brochures or certificates on eBay.

Admin, why couldnt the brochures be inserted when they are originally packaged up in China????? They insert a certificate in there, so a brochure wouldnt be hard.
Get the brochures printed in china for $400, and you'll be in front!!

i placed an order once with kevin (scale 18 )and received a email saying no certificate with this model ( brock XU-1 ) , saying in the early days of biante certificates werent released outside australia for australian models

I can see the problem regarding opening and closing boxes to insert the brochure but as the brochure is part of the product it should be included within the packaging of the product. I guess the only answer is to have the brochure inserted where ever they are packaged in the first place and until this practice is adopted the sarga of missing brochures courtesy of those that are profiting out of these brochures will only continue.

My dealer only had a small quantity of blue a9x delivered, i dont know exact total, guessing 6, and when he gave me my brochure, he had at least 15,perhaps they are just "chucked in" willy nilly.
I never used to worry about these untill i saw the prices these jerks sell em for on the auction sites.
But now i make sure my dealer puts one in, sometimes two, so i can sell one !!!!!:D (Joking)

Don't worry Passenger, the same thing happened
to me when I also ordered BROCK'S XU1 through
Kevin at scale 18. No certificate, I kept the
proof of purchase and the email he sent back to me stating that their was no certificate available
with this model. Strange?
Regards.

Hi Loste Treasures
The only Biante that doesnt come with a certificate is the Brock #1 LJ GTR-XU1 as this has a brass plaque fitted to the base plate of display stand. to my knowledge all the other 1:18 Models did have COA's.

Hi Damian,
Check the following link to see what im talking about there is a pic there. http://au.page.sold.yahoo.com/au/auction/511296397
If yours didnt come with the baseplate i would be asking why ? thoroughly check your box as its in the bottom of the styrofoam.
Cheers

Thanks pgd666,
This just gets better. When I received the
model from Scale 18, It came with the Brock
Box & was attached to a very basic black acrylic
base and clear cover. No styrofoam or brass
plaque.
I'm not bagging Scale 18, Please don't get me wrong, I've bought 5 other cars from them when I've missed out here. Their service is excellent.
I just think It's bad or I guess unlucky, that when we order models, people miss out on other
items that are supposed to come with it.

Hi Damian.
Im not bagging any suppliers either, i wouldnt do that, although some retailers leave a lot to be desired, mate the plaque is attached to the black base plate, the only way it wouldnt be there is if its been purposely removed or its not the original baseplate. just trying to help solve your mystery.
Cheers

Thanks for your help Paul.
I think the base plate may have been swapped
as the plaque is definitely not there.
As for the NO styrofoam thats another mystery.
Thanks again

Glad I found this thread. I know there was a recent discussion regarding the non-COA Monaro CV8s and Clubsports. I recently purchased a few Falcons from scale18 that had the COAs and brochures. However, their Ochre Yellow and Xu-1s don't have them and languish unsold. I really want to get the Yellow Ochre, but wonder if I should pay a little extra and get one with the COA.
It sounds like a number of the older releases shipped to him made their way back home. Probably more than sold in North America! As someone already said, the Biante-buyers over here appear limited.
Just how valuable IS that piece of paper? Non-COA Sting Red Clubsports and Yellow Monaros are basically ignored on the Aussie auction sites - even at relatively bargain prices.

zeitgeist,
I think you have to ask yourself the question ' What do I collect, model cars or COA's'
Personally if I had the choice between a certificated model and a non certificated model at half the price (Clubsport, Monaro) I'd take the non certificated model every time. Then I've got more money to spend on other modes. You see I collect model cars.
As for the Yellow Ochre, if its a little extra - what are we talking about here $10- then sure get the certificated model.

Well, I'd probably have to say 'model cars'.
As for the Yellow Ochre, I can get the one over here delivered for approx AU$178. I've not yet seen a COA'ed YO go for under AU$160. With delivery/ins, I'm at least at AU$200. I'd probably consider that, but anyone who has the YO for AU$160 doesn't take credit card. Then I have to add in a bunch more for a bank draft. You know, I think I'm talking myself into the one over here!

Do Biante make for example:
6000 cars
6000 brochures
6000 certificates
or do they produce a handful of surplus cars to cover ones that may get damaged in transit or repacements for cars that have manufacturing faults.
The certificates can't, for obvious reasons, be printed more than the allocated number stated, but you would think there would be a few extra brochures made.
Maybe this surplus may have been shipped overseas????
