G'day all,
just pondering what the next release of the DJR collection will be & wondered if anyone knew. Like most collectors i have fairly tight budget to stick to & have to plan my purchases (building a house to store my models!!!)
I've heard that the Red Roo XE (basically the Tru-Blu XD updated to the new XE model - 1982) is comming next year & possibly a championship winning Sierra - please correct me admin, etc, if i'm wrong.
Personally i'd love the EBII that won Bathurst & possibly the EF that won the Sandown 500 in '95.
i'd also like the EB Falcon that won the 1st race of the current V8 era at Amaroo in '93.
There are so many DJR models that could be made & it would be great if we could be given some indercation of what is comming so that when the time comes, we have the funds to buy our little piece of pride & joy.
I am aware that the nature of my question my be asking you to comment on confidential information & understand if you stay silent, however it would be great to know - perhaps there could be an update to the list in the FAQ section or some likely dates added to the models already listed.
cheers,

Good question mate, dont hold your breath for an answer. I'm like you, very limited budget etc. I collect Biante purely to improve my DJR collection, (would love to buy other Fords but got to draw the line somewhere). I understand why the Xe's and Xd's will be pumped out plus sierras but would love to know why the deathly silence when the 94 EB11 and the EF, and EL's are mentioned. I'm on a list for any future DJR cars but would like to know what the story is or do I have to try and track down the Dinkum(I think) model that someone told me about of the 94 car that cost a bomb and would not hold a candle to these Biante models. Good to see there are others who know what good cars look like. DJR will be back, bring on the Mount.

Know how you feel mate, I've had my fingers and toes crossed for yonks waiting for the EB, EF, and EL to come out..
I have the DJR XC, XD, XE and Sierra so far.
I have since got my hands on a number of the Dinkum DJR models, the 1/43 Tru Blu XD, the 1/43 Greens-Tuf XE, and the 1/24 Bathurst winning EB.
The EB is actually the Dinkum 'Export' model, and comes with a fancy wooden base.
All these models are not as detailed as the Biante's, though the EB does a very good job.
I first saw the ad's for the 1/43's when I was a kid, and always wanted them. Same goes for the EB, saw it when they were released, but couldn't afford it on an apprentice's wage!!!
They form a very important part of my collection, and no matter what else comes out, they will still retain their individual 'collectiveness'. Both the XD and XE were only limited editions of 99 models each, and mine are both as brand new.
I'm sure also that they were amongst the first ever models that Dinkum made, so that makes them even more special!!
I wish you the best of luck in finding the EB you want, as they are
very difficult to find!!!
I can send some piccy's if you like.
Regards, Ed :)

Ed, thanks for the offer of the pics, I would love to see the EB, I remember when it was advertised after the win in 94, I enquired about it but the price scared me off, hindsight is a wonderful thing isnt it. Any way I know nothing about computers but if you can send me a picture my E mail address is keithyatoura@ozemail.com.au. I hope I wont have to hunt one down but I really want to know what the story is. I dont want to stir the admin. up I know they have their reasons and restrictions with licences etc, anyway here's hoping mate.

Talking about the dinkins, i have one of the 1/24 scale EL's - Johnson & Bowe's last drive together at Bathurst (it's one of thse cost-a-lot models!!) - it IS the centre piece of my collection.
I remember that EBII model & at the time i was working in a supermarket while i was at high school, subsequently the price ment that i didn't get one (can't remember the exact price, but it was somewhere near $300 - which is a lot at $5 per hr !!!)
What i was trying to find out was which DJR models were biante releasing in the future and any aprox. dates for their release.
If anyone has some information to shed on this subject i would appreicate it.
cheers,

Still that deathly silence, looks like I start trying to get a Dinkum EB, (fat chance I'll find one). I actually hope there are no more new DJR cars until early next year I've used up all birthdays and Christmas for this year and next plus my tax return(part of it ) as in the last six months I've bought all the DJR cars, my missus thinks I've lost the plot. Come on Mr admin give us a tip on the EB to EL's. Thanks.

Craig,
If you look at Gateway Models site they have Johnson & Bowe EB & EF in 1:43 & EB only in 1:24 Dinkum models. Nearly the same price as Biante but not as good. I'll wait for Biante to release them. If you look at what makes up the Dick Johnson collection the cars listed are only stage one . I'm sure they will be in stage two.

But the question was,
what DJR cars are comming soon and any aprox dates?
To be honest, i don't realy care who has what Dinkum and where you can get them, as i now do not collect them any more due to their extreamly dear pricing with quality that certantly dosen't match the price.
The biante model are of a far greater (my opinion) quality at a more sensaible price.
Please if anyone knows which DJR models are in planning or production stages at present, as well as when they will arrive, please add it to this forum.

I thought the Greens Tuf XE (Johnson/Bartlet)was the next car on the list and to be out latter this year. I wonder if this car will come with trees?

After searching through the past posts i see that there may be a Red Roo Falcon (XE1982)
Any one know when it is comming?
Anyone heard anything about the Greens Tuff Mustang ?
What about the 1988 ATCC winning Sierra ?
Or the Qld 500 AU with the Blue roof - i personally think that this model should be the final model released in the whole DJR collection

The shop i get all my cars from is now taking orders for the RED ROO FALCON. can't wait for each and every DJR car.:D
I'm on the mailing list at DJR, and today I received a letter about the Dick Johnson Collection with a half page slip attached that states the following;
Biante have advised us that the next four cars to possibly be included in the Dick Johnson Collection are
XE Greenstuf Bathurst 1983
XU-1 Torana
Sierra ATCC 1988/89
EB FAI Bathurst 1994
Then it goes on with some stuff about contacting us to update the database about your desire to receive these models blah blah blah...
Finally, at the bottom of this slip, in big bold text, is this line;
The next car in the collection is the XE GREENSTUF 1983.
Other TBA cars they list are;
XE Red Roo 1982
XBGT Bryan Byrt Ford 1977
"The Rock" full scale model
XD TruBlu Bathurst 1980 + 1:18 scale "Rock"
Mustang Greenstuf 1985
AU2 Johnson/Johnson Q500 Blue Roof 2000.
Since this is from Biante via DJR themselves, could this be considered gospel (or at least a constructive addition to the thread) ?

Thankyou for your information.
I see my all time favorite model is on your list for the next 12 months - '94 EB - if only admin could be this helpful !!!!!!
Brchi17, I've had a depressing though in the last 12 hours.
After thinking about that letter more carefully, I'm concerned the that the words possibly be included mean that these 4 cars won't actually be the next 4 cars released, merely they are 4 more cars added to the waiting list of cars confirmed to be part of the collection.
I'm sure I've read somewhere here on the board a post by admin saying that the 1980 'Rock' TruBlue XD would be arriving in Feb/March 2003.
With DJR confirming the 83 Greenstuf XE as the next model, a picture is starting to form.
Here's my theory:
When you consider that DJR are still restoring the 84 Bathurst EB at their workshops - this is the one that was donated back to DJ by Campbelltown TAFE after they rebuilt the wrecked shell - to add to the showroom collection of race cars, isn't it likely that Biante would be waiting for this car to be finished so they can go straight to the source material instead of trying to find pictures in books and photos from the team?
Furthermore, with all the money Biante have spent making the dies for the XB/XC & XD/XE & AU, you'd think they're entitled to get their development costs back & make a bit of profit from the product, so I'd think we're in for a diet of X series cars before the EB comes along.
This would make sense I suppose, as then you'd have both Greenstuf and both TruBlu Falcons, then I'd imagine that we'll get either the RedRoo XE or the 88/89 Shell Sierra from the Minichamps die.
We've also got the 1977 XB and the Q500 Blue Roof AU2 to come that can be made from exsisting dies before biante even need to look at EB/EL/EF, or my personal fave - the Greenstuf Mustang.
As irritating as it is to have to wait potentially that long for both the Mustang and the E series cars, your really can't complain too much about the schedule. I certainly don't begrudge Biante the need to make a profit, nor am I ignorant of economies of scale (pardon the pun) or of efficient use of exsisting resources to spread the production costs over the life of a die effectively.
----------------------------
On a side note about the mustang, does anyone remember a small outfit called AUSCAR models that made a limited edition run of the Greenstuf Mustang based on a modified Bburago model (I think they also did a JPS BMW at a later date).
Years ago I was given one by my mother as a birthday gift (No. 94 of 300) which has been locked away in it's box for most of it's life. God only knows what it's worth now, Mum paid about $150 for it way back when she got it for me.
At the time I got it, I remember thinking it was the duck's guts, but just looking at it the other night made me appreciate what fantastic models these new generation Biante cars are.
Sadly, the AUSCAR Greenstuf Mustang's decals were the type found in Tamiya type model kits (can't think of what that process is called), not the modern pad printed sort, and they've deteriorated a bit over the years.
But until Biante's Mustang comes along, it's still the best thing going in that regard, and it's one of the few things from my earlier model collecting years that I treasure.

From what i gather i think the RED ROO XE is next, as thats the one my dealer has me paying off at the moment. ( sounds like i'm talking about a drug dealer, then i spose this die cast collecting is quite additive isn't it.):D :D
