I'm coming over to Indy Cars at Surfers Paradise this year and am hoping to possibly add to my model collection while I'm over there.
Can anyone tell me if there are many models sold at the merchandise sites and if the prices are inflated? Any tips would be appreciated.
I've been to the Gold Coast numerous times before and only came across one real model shop called Pitstop Models. Are there any other models shops hiding there.
I've also heard that Geoff Sherriff of Sherriffs in Parramatta sets up a temporary store during the Indy Cars. I'm mainly after V8 Supercars and Biante roadcars of the Holden variety.

I'm sure that Dianne's Models has a stand at Indy as well. She has a good variety of models and at reasonable prices.

There is a place called Race Nutz in the broadbeach mall that carries Biante models as well as other racing gear, models and memorabilia. Hope this helps.

Cheers, Jason :D

Was there a Max Wilson champ car model of the car he raced in the series last year?
Max never drove at Surfers last year because he was fired from the team.
I also know in 2000 Max did F1 testing for Williams or Micheialan tyres and are there any models of the Williams 2000 test car or Michelian test car?

There is a testcar ( Williams FW21 Testcar Michelin 2000 )
Done by Minichamps in 1/43 #430 990098
in a Blue Williams F1 livery L.E. 5999
The testdriver depicted in the car is German testdriver Muller

Action Performance did a lot of Cart models of the 1999 and 2000 series but have done little since. The only current model I have of these is a 2001 Andretti which is an Ertl model with very poor detail for the price.

Its a real shame because the Action models were excellent with detailed engine and front suspension with covers. I guess with the series having issues, the popularity of these is down from previous years. If you can find a Andretti 1999 model, pick this one up as its one of the best. The Black KMart machine looks wicked.

On PPG,Cart model cars there have been quit a few made over the years in general.
I do have 6 Maisto PPg cars and they are exelent for the price and as a driveby model
UT made a few and the one that is in demand is the team green car Paul Tracey ,Minichamps made also 1/18 and from them I do have the Nigel Mansell roadcourse and Oval variants
Action did also make the presentation team Green car with the lift off front and back panels LOLA and did a host of other teams and drivers
there are also older models of the frontwheel car era and even the Mclaren indycars is available in the different livery's it competed maker mosty from I think, Exoto .This subject is a real chalenge for a collector here in Australia as Info is not readily available and a site like Torontomotorsport in Canada is a real help with their forum members knowledge. :)
