In my area it is $1.11 to $1.16 a litre.

And this inquire by the accc into fuel price is biggest load of bs, the fed ans state goverments will not lower fuel taxs it the biggest revenue earner next to poker machine taxes and speeding cameras.

I run LPG too, but once the excise kicks in and LPG goes to 70c tell me if it's worth running it...

And what is YOUR area seen as you have no location.

I just paid 0.945 in sunny Brisbane.

Just returned from the Shakey Isles and they were paying $129.9 for ULP and about $1.40 for Premium. Getting to be as bad as Europe.

enjoy it while it last's, when the gov start taking their slice of it in 18months or so, it's won't be much cheaper than ULP.......

108.9 in Warragul, add 10c p/lt for Optimax

You've got a LONG way to go before it's as bad as Europe, or at least the UK anyway! And as Aussie prices rise so UK prices will head closer towards the $3 mark.......

I could be wrong but I heard that when the excise cuts in it is a 2 cent hike followed by 2 cent hikes every year over the following 6 years and while this will bite into the price of LPG it should still be a cheaper option than the price of petrol over the same 7 year period. Been running it now for just on 160,000 klm and all expected figures such as K's per litre and so on have been absolutely as quoted.

$1.12 ULP and $1.23 for diesel. And to think they hung Ned Kelly for highway robbery.

He was hanged for shooting 3 coppers, but double-dipping on fuel tax by the Treasurer is almost as bad.

I passed the Shell garage where i fill up this morning on Albany Highway. Unleaded was $106.9/litre.

Thank goodness work pays for all my fuel...:)

How many of you use the discount vouchers from Coles, Woolies etc?

Cheers,

At Biante we have BP fuel cards but lately have been driving past and going into Gull (WA brand) and saving 7 cents per litre. No grocery dockets involved....

Unfortunately the 'Shopper Docket' premium fuels have a reputation for not being the best so I have to pay premium prices for petrol. <SIGH>

I use them. Spend the money at the supermarket, so might as well use the dockets.

We do, but mind you we don't go out of our way to use them either.

Safeway for the wifes Impreza, Coles for the Optimax in the SV8, it may only be a saving of around $2 per tank, but it's better in our pocket than their's !!!

cheers. :)

But you don't save the money...you now spend on average $2 more for your groceries...

The beauty of this system is those that don't use shop-a-dockets pay extra at the check-out AND extra at the pump!

I paid $1.33 for UNleaded in Strathfieldsaye this morning. It ok, the prcies will come down! My logic is simple: WHAT GOES UP MUST COME DOWN! Its a good theory!

Aussie prices are due to come down, but only because OPEC have agreed to pump more crude out......so you get your cheaper fuel but global stocks run out quicker!

Same with recycled chip fat from deep fat fryers in the UK - people started running their diesel cars on them and the government decided that as a fuel it was taxable........

When I first went "private" as a Courier 18 years go, LPG was 15.9 cpl. Now it's around the 50 c mark. I had the first LPG Van in Canberra, my XE Falcon P'Van, Nick. It's not the pump price so much, as the conversion cost - $1700-00 upwards - otherwise I love the stuff. The trick is to buy an already converted car, I guess.
ULP here is $1.06 - $1.19 pl. We had to go to Sydney on Monday for a Funeral & ended up filling up in Mittagong, of all places, at $1.04 pl (with a Coles docket) which was 4 - 12 cpl CHEAPER than Sydney.
As for the dockets, don't trust me, trust my Wife. Coles are $20-00 to $30-00 per week cheaper than Woolies for our groceries, with the same discount on the fuel. Works for us.
By the way, seen the price of Diesel? $1.23 pl! Everything you can see has at some time been transported by a Diesel powered vehicle, be it Truck, train or ship. It all flows on.:(

Well Shoppa docket and the like was NOT put in place to benefit those who use it!!

My better half (by a very long shot) will spend here $$ where she wants to shop, we frequent the Eurofood type shops and just pay at the bowser what ever the price is and then claim it if it is a buissness deduction, the rest(private fuel consumption ) is just that, and we just pay the price. The upbeart is that we do not run poluted, secondhand reject fuel in our cars and have the repair problems accordingly.
Coles and Woolworths arte not my fav shops.
Triking is :D
The service is top notch.

Yes, Woolies Petrol USED to be rubbish (speaking from personal experience) but these days is Caltex. The Coles Servos are Shell. Go Well.:)

Unfortunately in SA we don't get Optimax at Shell, only their ordinary 95RON 'Premium'. This means either Mobil 8000 or BP and neither are aligned with shopping centres in our area. Put $50 in this morning with a 1/4 of a tank to start with and didn't even reach full. To think when I started paying for fuel it was 32cpl (and MUCH cheaper for some others on this forum:D )

While that may be the case, it's not like we go out of our way to shop there - if we want to shop at an independent & supposedly save, we have to travel large distance & the savings are far less than the cost of going out of our way to save them.

For us we have both retailers in our town, we have to eat, so we just do it.

cheers. :)

Done some sums on the LPG question. To do 300km a week on ULP in our Falcon costs about $47-00. The same distance on LPG is about $26-00. A standard LPG conversion for a Falcon Wagon is around $2000-00. So on a $20-00 per week saving it's going to take us 2 years to repay the conversion cost. After that it's gravy, depending on the cost of LPG, of course. As I've mentioned before, on trips we've found LPG at anything up to 3/4 the price of ULP out in country areas, so unless you're either converting a new car & keeping it at least 4 or 5 years, or buying an already converted car, sadly for us it's just not worth the cost. This from a career Courier who's had all of his own vans on LPG in the past. 100 000 km per year mileage helps.:)

Currently about $1.15 litre standard ULP, should be using premium unleaded, but to compensate i add some octane booster which costs me nothing:)
