One of the best looking Holdens ever (despite the VK being a very ugly car that I never took a shine too) was the 1984 Bathurst winning 05 VK Commodore, "The Last of the Big Bangers".

Any plans to build a model of this car in the near future?

If so, put me down for one.

This one will be coming up. It must be one of the most commonly asked questions by new members on the forum here.
It was discussed somewhere else but I can't find the thread now. I think we will be getting Torana's next in the Brock collection and then the Commodore's will be started on.
All in good time, but admin have stated we will be getting this model (thank goodness as I want it as well, actually I want a twin pack of 05 and 25 in 1:18).

I have the 78 A9X, just waiting for the 79 A9X to come out.

The VK, I just have to have one. Still looks as good as the day it raced at the Bathurst Motor Racing Museum.

Been round here for a while, just don't post much.

Actually this all started from trying to find out if Brocky competed in the Targa this year, which led to another website, and some pics of the VK.

Does anybody know if Brock competed this year in the Targa?

We now return you to the thread.

PB has reired from motorsport, I think the only chance to see him "race" again is at Goodwood festival of speed where he is driving the 84 VK Group C....wooo hoooo.

Brocky was not at targa this year and the crowds missed him.

I knew that he was retiring from Motorsport, but I thought that he was still doing selected events like Targa and the Rally. Also moving to managing his son's race team.

That might have all changed now, rumours are running that Pete and Bev have split.

I'm shocked, split is official:- Peter & Bev Split (http://www.theage.com.au/news/World/Bathurst-champ-splits-from-wife/2005/05/02/1114886304580.html?oneclick=true)

For someone how had so much success, he's had his fair share of hard luck.

I see you seem keen on this car , if you go to the newsagent the latest ' Australian Muscle Car ' magazine # 18 has a good story on the making & running of this car and a lot of good pics , but hurry its been out a little while you still might get one ....:)

If Histric Group C racing takes off, and has a Bathurst support race, Brocky might drive the VK if they get all the legends back for 1 race.
Brock doesn't want to do COMPETITIVE motorsport, Historic racing is friendly racing, isn't it?

This one is going to be difficult to get "accurate" decals for...the word Marlboro was projected onto the car to follow the shape of the body...and then painted on.

If given a flat decal sheet, the letters (especially those around the flares) should be distorted...don't know how you'd do this... :(

Maybe the good people at Biante can just put the bits of the letters on the guards, so that we can add the flat decals for the rest of the car.

Historic Racing, Friendly???? Tell the local guy I know that runs in it that!!!!! They just play for smaller sheep stations, that's all.

That would work...we can only hope.

This looks OK. But would the size of the decals stand up to a close comparison??

I just want one (http://www.brock05.com/modelofthemonth2.php)

Good example Martin. The only reason that model looks OK is that the picture is taken on an angle (and I do believe the font is undersized)...

If viewing directly from the side of that model (rather than the 2/4 shots), either the M (RHS) or the O (LHS) would look particularly bad...

As you say though, it will be worse in 1:18 than 1:64...

Compare Martin's link with this one (http://www.brock05.com/mrhdtgallery/VkGroupC.jpg) ...notice the distorted M from this angle...side on it looks normal.
