I know that this has probably been ask hunderds of times before, I heard that the 2004 #15 Murphy/R.Kelly was going to be released next month (meaning June)
I was wondering if anyone can confirm that for me.
Thanks very much

the 1:64 is in transit now but looking at the website the others are still not listed as In Production.
looks like the 1:18 1999 Murphy/Richards winner isn't too far away, maybe thats the one they were thinking of :-)

My credit card is going to cop a hammering shortly, this for me is a must have and a very special car. So much so i have been ordered to get 2 by the missus ( shock ) so that our 5 yr old can have one in his room ( yes behind glass not to be touched )

Anybody know the amount of these being made???
Also would love to see an updated photo. The one on the website looks like the 1/64 version. I remember Biante saying the ride height/camber was being fixed.
Can't wait to add another Bathurst Winner to the collection!

Luckily I managed to get home in time & grab one. With only 3300 being released it may be quite hard to get later one if you miss out now.
Coincidentally I was just checking the status of it as I finished writing this post & low & behold it's now Temporarily Out of Stock

Gee I am Impatient when it comes to ordering models off the Biante site knowing there are so many of us collectors out there that look foward to the next BIG issue of cars to arrive.
And it seems the numbers of cars is fairly low for a Bathurst Winner

Well after 45 mins of sitting on one screen i went to order and guess what ALL SOLD OUT ! not happy why is it every time there is a big realese this web site cany handle the traffic ?
And no i wasnt my ISP as a friend of mine was trying too and couldnt order either.
Wow seems popular, I for one have turned off Biante Supercar models, at least the Current VY/VZ shape, just don't look good enough to me compared to the CC supercars, however I do still buy the old HRT VS and VR commodores etc.

There has to be a better system than this though! We found out how bad it was when there was an uproar after the A9X release.
I dont know why there cant be a system in place where by people can register there interest in the model, when a release date is close by an email is generated by the system to those who have registered and those that dont take up the offer are left off the the order list.
Why is it that the Biante ISP will let threw some people and not others when trying to order. I sat for 40 minutes on the step 1 screen and when it finally got to step 2 was to late all gone. For me that is not really acceptable or fair, it seems like its more about lotto.
I have sent an email to bev ( the only thing i could do whilst waiting to see what if anything can be done) i dont really like my chances and will have to wait till next week when they are listed on ebay at inflated prices !

Tony i was on from 2.45 eastern australian time. and kept refreshing every 5 mins from there on, i have ADSL and have never had a problem before.
As i posted before there has to be a better system than what currently happens as the Biante ISP doesnt seem to be able to cope with big volumes.
Luke
2pm in Perth is usually 5pm here in N.S.W isnt it?
I was on in the Advance order screen, continually refreshing to no avail. This is CRAP!

yes yet another model Ive managed to snap up. I was going to wait until I got home (just then) but its been online for 1hour 45 minutes and is temporarily out of stock (aka sold out) so lucky I got someone to buy it for me.
As i posted before there has to be a better system than what currently happens as the Biante ISP doesnt seem to be able to cope with big volumes. ive been online right as a few cars have become avail and never had a problem?? Or is it just me?
Y2kGoofball, the system for pre ordering is good, my stuff up was wrongly assuming the time difference.

Y2K its the first time it has happened to me too, after the A9X situation the company that Biante uses to host this site said it had fixed the problem and it wouldnt/shouldnt happen again.
I just think to avoid problems like this then maybe a different form of advance orders or big releases should be handled differently. It would allow those who use this site to get a model that they were after without the lotto effect that the server currently seems to have.

Luke I can't but help think it was your ISP's problem, or PC problem seen as you are the only one who missed out with this kind of error, someone else missed out as they had the time wrong.
2.45 was a long time to start refreshing before 4pm??? Perhaps if you did it so many times your IP address was blocked??? Some ISP will block IP's that seem to be "demanding" a bit like denial of service attacks, but I reckon this may be a bit far fetched.
I'd be ringing around a few shops now, plus don't Biante sometimes have a second release and you'll get the alert that the car is back in stock?
Good luck mate.
Cheers

Weird thing is Darin i could get on to any other site i liked, i didnt refresh every 5 mins thats abit over the top from 2.45 but i was logged with my collectors club number etc from then.
More realictally it was refreshed from 3.50 every few minutes. The thing i find interesting is i tried it on 2 pc's at the same time, one with my collectors club number and the other without. I only logged on to the other pc around 4.10 when the first one wouldnt continue the purchase past step 1.
I guess i will just have to try the few shops i know of and go from there. I will be in sydney till next week so might try a few down there and then a few here when i get back.

As soon as Murphy and Kelly won back to back (around November), the 03 winner started climbing in price.
Prior to that I'd seen them everywhere at or below RRP. Two weeks after Bathurst I phoned at least a dozen stores before I found one at retail...

so did mine
Although it may be their scanning.
I dont know how many little packages Biante would have (ie how many they sold to us online) but imagine the poor bloke whose got to scan every single package.
Possibly its been double scanned at the depot? Dont forget the first time would be the bloke that picks it up (2:04pm he scanned yours).
Then it may be scanned once more when it arrives at the depot (4:59pm) then possibly once more as its being sent interstate or onto the next stage (in this case 3 minutes after arriving)?
We see 3 Perth times, but AAE might see it as Picked Up, At Depot, On flight? Dont forget its overnight so I'd imagine as soon as the items arive at the depot their pretty much sent packing onto the plane, especially at knock off time on a Friday afternoon!
FYI my times were 2:04, 4:59, 5:00 so pretty close to yours.

Just took some quickies.. Nothing fancy. I don't get many supercars but this one "looks" right when viewed in the flesh. I think the ground clearance issue is gone on this model. I am looking at it now and it realy looks correct. Mind you, I haven't (and won't) take out my ruler and DVD's :D

This has happened before, hence why I'm not too worried about it, we know they are good for it.
The fact that I've paid for it & been credited the bonus points, sort of suggests, that it now can't be too far away.

This will be another one that in the goodness of time goes through the roof in price.
The printing on nthis car is stunning.
I did have a prototype of this car in my temp. possesion (Model Expo in May) and a LOT of work has since been done to bring this model to it's current state.
I did notice as well the camera on the front rollcage

Use a 1:18th piece of broom handle like the team does.
There is NO inbuilt mechanism on the race car to keep the hood up.

Cut the top off a match stick and use that, it looks great from a distance and looks just like what happens at the track as Admin pointed out.

Ride height looks good, but front bar/air-intake
still not right. Castrol logo came down over the
little lip - which was in red - which gave the logo
the correct proportions. ie: not stretched like the
model.

Just comparing mine to my 2003 Bathurst winner on have to say the detail of the interior on the 2004 looks a bit rushed in finish,
no buttons painted on the stearing weel, dont no if the 2004 car had any dash sponsors or not, just hopr no corners are being cut to get the models out, I personally would rather wait the extra time it takes to get it right.:(

Thanks for the clarification.....retailer rang mentioning he had mine in stock which lead me to ask about the cert and flyer whereby his response lead to my question on this forum....so accustomed to seeing signatures and flyers...its my first modern Bathurst winner and getting it cos its got Spiderman on it...so not only will it be chased by car enthusiasts/Bathurst collectors but in the states there are those that want anything with Spidey on it
Dumb question but it did raise my curiosity, but how does Biante deal with such TM from other companies.....do you have to notify Marvel Enterprises of the use of the Spiderman character on the car or since its been covered off by the K-mart team they have the rights that allow its use to flow onto any merchandising???

They ran the old 18 degree motor from memory. I read an interesting article about the histroy of the car itself. Its the one they called Golden Child from HRT and had started life as a VT of all things back in 2000, it is the car Craig Lowdnes ended finishing his HRT career with. It underwent all sorts of transformations until in ended up being at Kmart racing. It is also the car that did all the work at Avalon for the project Blueprint specs.

Sorry but it wasn't the "Golden Child". The Golden Child was the car Skaife
won a Championship and 2 Bathurst with and he also used @ Indy last year.
From memory the 04 Bathurst Winner was an ex-HRT VY and now is raced
by Tony D'Alberto in the HP Sauce Series.
The 03 Bathurst Winner was the HYL car Rick drove @ Sandown in 02 then
was crunched in NT with Todd, before being repaired and driven to victory by
Murph and Rick @ Bathurst. It now is a spare car in HRT colours.

Close but not quite right.....
04 Bathurst winner was Chassis HRT 044.
Built new as VX in 2001 and debued @ EC.
Raced by Bright/Mezera in the Enduro's.
Raced by Bright up until Winton 02.
Raced by Kmart for rest of 02 sprint series.
Raced by Rick in 2003 up until Oran Park Rd.
Coverted to VY spec and raced by Rick in 04.
Won EC Round with Rick
Raced @ Sandown 500 as #51.
Won Bathurst as #15.
Sold to D'Alberto to compete in HPDC Series.
The sister car in last years Bathurst raced by
Owen and Leahey was 2003 Bathurst winner.

Built new as VT in 2000
Debueted by Lowndes @ QLD Sprint Rd
Won 2000 QLD 500 - Lowndes /Skaife
6th @ 2000 Bathurst 1000
Updated to VX spec in 2001
Raced by Skaife 1st half of 2001 and @ Indy Race
Raced by Rick in #255 HYL livery @ Sandown Rd
HRT Spare car in 2002 updated to VY spec
Todd raced @ 2003 AGP and crashed
Todd involved in heavy crashed @ 2003 NT Rd
Moved to Kmart and deduted @ OP by Murph
3rd @ Sandown 500
Magic lap for Bathurst Pole
2003 Bathurst Winner
Spare car for 2004
Murphy raced from 2004 WA Rd
Raced by Owen/Leahey 04 Sandown 500 as #15
Raced by Owen/Leahey 04 Bathurst 1000 as #15
Spare HRT car in 2005
Either way neither 03 or 04 Winner are the famed

Can anyone with a 1:18 2004 Bathurst winner confirm with me whether the aerials on their car is dead straight OR are they a little twisted about?

I think Malik could fill you in as he's had first had experience with avesco & their attitude to people using the any part of the V8 logo without paying them huge sums of money. If you do a search on liveries you should find something. I think it was 2004 when he was running a livery website before the season & he was told in no uncertain terms to shut it down.
On the copyright side of things apparently avesco own the intellectual right to any pictures taken of a V8 supercar which is presented for sale. I couldn’t imagine them chasing down every single person who sells a V8 supercar picture, but I guess a lot of bluff could go a long way.
They don't want anyone making money out of the V8's without giving them their slice of the pie.
cheers :)

mate Brad is right..
AVESCO are quite touchy about anything that involves them and having control over it...
if you approached it in the right way you could probably be able to sell your pics..
but with my site I scored just over 10k hits in about 3 weeks and they found the site and I got a curt little email telling me to shut it down or face the consequences....
I was pinged on using the AVESCO logo also the series logo's for Shell championship series and the then Konika Minolta series..
also the photo's containted "their intellectual property" so were subject to the same copyright laws as the logos.

For all you Bathurst/Holden/Peter Briock fans;
Get ready for the 1975 Winner, The Holden Tornado L34 Peter Brock-Brian Sampson.
This one will be the next BIG one:D
As this is one of the least known cars that Peter drove, a good many will miss this one for sure and if the trend of low issue numbers continue than another expensive one it will be in the future.

the 1974 space is occupied by the 1973 polewinner (same car!)
Is this collection looking good or what.
When the correct XT GT will appear together with the Minni's and the Ford Cortina's it will be even better.
What about the 1998 Ford and Larican (pelican) Larry, who's cars are destined NOT to be done.
