My memory is lacking on four cylinder muscle, but I think you'll find that none of the European RS models were officially imported to Australia apart from twenty-odd RS3100 Capris back in 1974/75.

We did get the Lotus-headed Mk1 Twin Cam, and I seem to remember that a Mk2 RS2000 was imported by Ford in 1975/76, but our own version that appeared in 1979/80 was kitted with the standard 2.0 litre OHC donk that we first saw in the TC Cortina. It was available as a two door and four door and was great value for around $7,000 or so. The interior was decked out with Scheel seats and about the only option available was Volante alloy road wheels. Five body colours as I recall, with the dark blue an exclusive (from the Ford LTD no less!) to the RS2000.

Ive got a MkII RS2000 2 door. I believe another forum member has a red one, Seano, off memory? They do go like the clappers, cost abit in insurance for a young bloke like me though.

Had one of these as my first car, wish i never sold it.

I did lots of work to the engine in my one:

Flat tops
big head ports
twin 48mm side draft webbers
bigger valves, etc etc

with the close gate gearbox it mad it a real wepon (fun to drive in the wet) if you could get traction.
also love the interior in these cars (good for factory)

Best of all is that a cosworth head will bolt straight on to the pinto block, add a turbo and injection and you could give dicky a run at bathurst.

I used to love the X-Pack RS2000 Mk2, the bodykit inspired by the Zakspeed cars. Presumably you will be getting the AutoArt Zakspeed RS2000 that's coming? They were the ultimate development of the RS.

Minichamps has a fair few choices coming up in their planned release of this year.
Some RS1800 and the like in famous rally livery.
Get yourself the current Minichamps cataloge and be informed;)

Here's the X-Pack, and you might be able to see why I want a model of it! Mmmm!

And a close-up of the body mods. A sweet motor! There is a yellow one at that Muscle Car Museum that was featured in AMC a long while back.

Here's the only surviving (according to the article) Zakspeed Mk2 RS2000 that the X-pack was inspired by. It is largely plastic and weighs just 560kg, and has 231 bhp from a 2.2 Pinto engine. Similar power to weight as a 700 bhp Commodore or Falcon!

I don't know of any offhand, but maybe the UK RS Owner's Club has a forum or something?

I believe that there's a "Small Fords" Car Club in Sydney. Try doing a search.

Now I'm hoping that the white Zakspeed Escort RS2000 promised from AutoArt is the slant-nosed one like in my photo (we haven't been shown a pic yet), but I suspect it'll be the "normal" flat front car. Very nice though! I'm trying to imagine a plastic 560kg car, crudely bolted around a lightweight chassis and with a highly tuned 231 bhp engine, and all I can think is.......FUN! And the guy has it road-registered in the UK!

I'm also hoping for the Zakspeed Capri turbos in 1:18, which make the Escort look like a dull shopping car.....

...and here's a Zakspeed Capri, showing where Mr Moffat may have got his inspiration for his 1979 Federation XC livery!

I know the Zakspeed Capri has been made available in kit form and 1:43, but does anyone know of a 1:18, either already released or yet to come?
