I just saw on the Exoto website an item that will be available for pre-order - the 935 turbo that Paul Newman had shared to come second in the LeMans 24 hour race.

The 935 turbo was one of my all time favourite race cars. I remember the year Allan Moffat drove one with Federation Insurance. That would be another great model to have as part of the Moffat collection.

In the meantime check out this link

The actual car was for sale for quite a long time in various UK magazines, US$600,000 if I remember rightly, still with scrutineers' marks all over its engine bay. The 935 was a great car - I have the plain body white Exoto 935 - and part of the legendary Porsche lineage. Octane magazine (still available in Oz) has Derek Bell test driving one on a track.

While Exoto have done a great job of the 935 in 1:18, its a shame that 1:43 collectors only have the old Quartzo models of the 935 that must be 10 - 15 years old by now. Its long overdue for Minichamps to produce the 935 in 1:43 using today's technology and quality.

I'd like to see the Jagermeister 935 in any scale, and I appreciate Exoto doing "plain body" versions in white, red and black, as race cars do look good like this! AutoArt have said they will be doing other Porsche race cars and more plain body cars, so 1:18 collectors will have more choice one day.......

I don't particularly mind if a car was successful or not, if it is important in the developmental history of a model, or if it looks good! Moby Dick is famous, has a famous driver, and is a Porsche racing car, so that's good enough for me!

Your not wrong Brad. The Moby Dick has already been released 2 years ago by Minichamps as part of the Porsche History Set (Car #1 available through Porsche dealers and 'limited' to 8,000 pieces), plus the recently released '78 LeMans version (car #43 which was "limited" to 6,600 pieces).

Add in the Norisring version and there must be 20,000 pieces floating around. All are white cars with an identical Martini livery - only the car number is different. Don't expect any of these to appreciate in value anytime soon.
