Ok,what in your opinion,is the most 'underpriced' Bathurst winning model released so far?
I would have to say the Longhurst/Mezera Sierra as I reckon it's a stunning looking car but obviously a Sierra has to have the name 'Johnson' on it to go radically up in price!

For all the hype it generated, the 78 Bathurst winner is far below the predictions that everybody had for it...

Has to be the 2000 Valvoline car.
One went on ebay a few weeks ago for $99.00, with only 1 bid (I had it on my watch list but forgot to check!)

Definitley the 1969 winner as it was a Monaro, and it should have been more valuable. I hope the 1968 winner is more popular with collectors!

The Sierra RS500 is a great looking car, but Aussies seem to have little affection for it (unlike European collectors), and so as Leigh said it is only Dick Johnson that gives it any cred. The lack of interest in the 1990 VL is a real surprise, as it was a popular victory for a Holden V8 against the might of the seemingly unbeatable turbo Sierras and Skylines. And the 1976 L34 Torana looks fantastic, so I would have thought it very popular. I suppose there's no accounting for taste, but I would have thought all of these would have sold like hot cakes!

It appears as though a Bathurst winner has to have the names Brock, Moffat or Johnson on the side of the car before anyone takes interest...
Saying that, the 92 Skyline is trading at high prices, while the 76 Torana is creeping up a little...

'76 torana. Great looking car, the tension and then the HDT team not appealing the result because of not wanting to be seen as "bullies". The car has everything needed for a bit of nostralga, imho.

I think for me it's the Bond/Roberts , a nice little car (shame about the grill though ) , for ages it and the Brock/West Monaro were around the $100-$120 mark but of recent the Brock/West has crept up in value nearing retail price but the '69 Bathurst winner hasn't changed in price at all , I can't understand why ?
The '91 Skaife/Richards also surprises me a little but I think the build quality of this one with huge panel gaps is probably a contributing factor to why the price had fallen and generally remains low .
I guess you could say that Bathurst collectors now would consider these two models bonus buys at their current price compared to the expensive bathurst winners from other years .
Cheers Jim .

In terms of undervaluation, I was torn among the Monaro, Torana and Grice/Percy's Commy, but I think the Grice/Percy Commy edges the other two out. It's sister road car commands a premium and I think it looks great!
Granted, the Tander/Bargwanna sells for well below RRP, but I think it and the '91 Skyline are deserving of their lower values.
Heck, the '92 is deserving of one as well, but that's for the other thread!

Must agree with this one. I picked up one for $85 recently just to out away for a rainy day. Already had it, but couldn't leave it on the shelf for that price.

The 1988 car by far is on of the better looking Bathurst winners and only 3000 were produced. This car should have attracted interest globally from Minichamps collectors. Why it is still stranded with the likes of the ugly '76 and '00, and inaccurate '69 and '91, I'll never know.

The road car actually looked good and the wheels seemed to be attached robustly. Both the Bathurst winner and the FAI versions are crap. I've never seen a Group A V8 run around Bathurst with 14" rims that had NASCAR style wheel offsets.
