Has anybody herd if this model is going to have the twin exhaust system hanging out the back instead of the sides like the other supercars.
This was suppose to aid in downforce wasn't it.

Richard Poole

Yes, it does have the twin exhaust out the back as per the real car. The exhaust layout was supplied to us by Alan heaphy who ran the cars while working at Gibson Motorsport.

Good to hear. It was the most unique feature of the car and made it sound terrific!
I just can't WAIT for this model!

Yep, but this completes it. If we want some more Murphy Bathurst winners he'll have to win it a few more times! :D

...and unfortunatly, that probably completes the Biante "Murphy Bathurst Winners" collection for a while. The next time he wins, we will probably have to buy a Classics model (which is not too bad as they are very good models!).

This should be 1 fine looking model!!! Might have to convert my code 3 into something else after I compare it with Biantes.

Do we know how many are being released of this model???

If people are worried about missing out on this model and if it is true that only 1999 are going to be produced, PRE ORDERS (http://www.gatewaymodels.com.au/category8_1.htm) are still being accepted from Gateway Models.

Gateway might not have received the models fom Biante yet  I also have ordered the Monaro through Gateway. They have always been very reliable in the past when I have ordered cars through them. I'll just wait till I get the order shipped email.

It's usually a week after the Biante website releases stock that my retailer get the items, and I usually know what's coming before they do...in other words, they have no idea on arrival time...

When I've used Gateway, I've never had a problem...

Its amazing, she cant win an ebay auction for the life of her yet out of 3 attempts shes got a 100% hit rate ordering Biantes for me? Go figure??

Anyway with a 1999 production number its easily the smallest run I'll have in my collection :D

Picked mine up at my local retailer (Triking) about an hour ago.

This one looks awesome 'in the flesh' (including real hoses inside the cabin instead of tampos).

Also, although it's only a minor item compared to the model itself, I reckon it's nice to see both Biante and CC over the past 12 months or so have been putting a bit of effort into making the box itself look presentable, with photo's of the models and stylish designs.

I know at the end of the day it's only a box, and a lot of people chuck them straight out, but I think it's just adds a little bit extra to the package and is a nice touch.

As mentioned in my last post I picked mine up from my retailer, but I still had it on my watchlist.

For some reason I received two Sold Out update emails (at 2:51pm & 2:54pm respectively) more than two whole hours before I received the Limited Stock update email which, although timestamped 2:03pm, didn't actually make my inbox until 4:57pm....go figure??

Although as mentioned I wasn't buying this one through the site, if I was I'm glad I wasn't relying on the Limited Stock email before placing an order online otherwise I may have missed the boat...

That’s a bit of a shame. I thought that production number would have been a nice touch. (Especially if I got 1999/1999!)

This gets weirder.

Less than five minutes ago an email appeared in my Inbox. Nothing strange about that, except that it was the Collectors Club newsletter from Tuesday, talking abouth the Spiderman 1:43 and Wynns 1:18 going on sale tomorrow, which of course was yesterday (if you follow)....so it was floating around in cyberspace for the past two days.

Maybe partly down to the fact that, up until now, this model has only been available as one of the early Classic's 'brick' versions, so to have a fully detailed version that is a quantum leap ahead of the alternative has got people a bit excited. ;)

GSXR1, I bought it because i'm a huge Greg Murphy fan. I was reading the posts prior to this model being released & I was surprised at how anticipated it was.
I don't see how the quality of this car is any different/better to any of the other recent cars I have purchased.
Maybe i'm a little more harder to excite?

Fair enough, like I said in my previous post I personally think it's partly due to the fact that there is now a highly detailed version available, as opposed to what was on the market previously.

I wonder if everyone has this model yet? It has been very quiet -- must mean it is a good one.

Anyway - I took some photos next to my code3 and I gave myself a pat on the back ;)

The Biante version is a great looking model - they have dropped the ride height and now my Gardner Coke car looks like a Crewman! Good to see Biante are fixing the ride height issue - hopefully they can ditch the plastic window nets next.

Top Job and the twin exhausts look good - something different to the other VTs in the collection.

Thanks for the comments guys. A few other guys on here have made code3s as well. Pedro inspired mine and also helped along the way. Those who have code3s what are you going to do with them???

1 big difference I noticed between my code3 and the Biante version is the bonnet. The stripes going up towards the windscreen are incorrect on the Biante version - from photos I have seen anyway... They should continue up and not be cut off...

Have been looking at my photos taken at Bathurst that year and agree with you. The angle across the bonnet of the Biante versions stripes is more accurate than the code three though.

Haven't any photos but if you get a copy of the great race 1997-2001 the tv cameras spend a bit of time on this car as it has a big prang near the cutting while leading the race.
