My wife reckons there are enough to trade in for a 1:1 Clubsport.
I remind her that there isn't enough to insure it, register it, fill it with fuel or make it louder so I just have to keep on going.

Nothing at all wrong with the 1:64 range. I just need to set myself some limits.
There are still plenty of 1:18 and 1:43s I still need right now not to mention anticipated future releases.
If I started collecting 1:64s I would have to get another display case.

Currently 258 at last count and mostly 1/18's , I don't think I'll ever get to an amount that I would consider to be too many , mind you my wife (as supporting as she is:p) has a different opinion .
I also currently have about twenty 1/18 Must have models on my watchlist and about 30 minicars made up of mostly classic touring cars etc .
The larger 1/18 scale models do take up a quite a bit of room around the house but do look awsome and certainly attract attention from visitors and are a great conversation piece .
Nate , it looks like you are on your way to an ever growing collection , you too will soon be fighting for room to fit that new model , once the diecast bug gets you there's no turning back ;) ... Anyhow , I hope you enjoy your models and your new hobby .
Cheers jim .

How we suffer for our passions.
I am almost praying that most of my watch list does not come up for a while.
I am heading off mid September to Goodwood for the two day 'Revival Festival', This is different to the recent festival of speed. At the revival the old race track comes to life exactly as it did in the late 1950s early 1960s, period cars, period clothes, period everything. I have got my tickets and grand stand seats for two days.
I cant afford anything till I get back,

20 or so Orange County Chopper Bikes, 1:10th through to the large 50cm (20 inch) ones.
And a few no name models that caught my eye.
Although I haven't got all the 1:18th Biantes due to my supplier not getting some of them in and I have stopped buying 1:43 and only buy the 1:64 that I like, was really hooked there for a while.
Geez hope the miisus doesn't read this, although she must have some idea as I've been given a room in the house for them all and 2 built in wardrobes full and 1 hall closet.

Most are still in there boxes. Way too many for the amount of room i have to dispaly them. I have been allowed to use a room for them but would have to glass in 3 walls, floor to ceiling to diplay them. At this stage thats a no-no with the other half.
Cabinets are way too expensive and only house a hand full of models. Don't want to waste money on cabinets that aren't going to do the job properly. :)

Since I can't afford a real Corvette...the diecast ones are the next best thing. I've got the GMP Compuware Corvettes that race in the ALMS. And the AutoArt 1:18. Also the 1:43 IXOs. For anyone else who follows the Corvettes, they finished 1st and 2nd in the GT1 class and an outstanding 5th and 6th outright in this years 24hrs LeMans! Incredible.
I have around 32 1:18 & 10 1:43. Some of the numbers being posted here are astonishing. 300+ 1:18 scale models is a pretty serious collection. You would have to have built in display cabinets to display that magnitude of models.
Ive only have 6 1:18s at the moment. :D

Ive got the 1:18 Autoart version of this car. I wish it did better on the racetrack but I bought it because it was the 50th anniv blue which looks better than the yellow one in which Corvette Racing usually race in.

I don't have the 1:18 version yet but I noticed AutoArt jacked their prices up again. A similar 1:18 scale only a year or so ago was equiv US$49. Now they're over US$60. I do however have the 1:43 Minichamps version.

None of my model are an investment, as I collect for pleasure not profit.
I'm open to realistic display suggestions, however the roof space is a good place for storage.:)

You have to see Singer's collection to believe it. As he says, they're not investments. If any of his models aren't on diplay it's simply because there just isn't the physical room to so display them. And it's not a small house.:)
On the other hand, I'm having no probs displaying my paltry 50-odd 1/43's!:D

If I only had a dozen or so cars to display, they would be on display now, but I am somewhere near ninety, so they are in storage at the moment.
I've given up on display options at this stage until other factors in life are determined.
I've not bought a car for some time now, and am getting quite behind in my collection now.
The profiteers that have jumped on the bandwagon will have me question where I go from here.
