Was the Chrome castrol car that ingall drove ever made in 1/18th scale?
I've got a 1/64th which is crap.

Are you talking about the car with the big SLX decal on the side, if it is i believe it was done in all formats

I'm pretty sure Classics only did it in 1:64th and 1:43rd. I have the 1:43rd version.

Hmmm....obviously you're either not a diecast connoisseur, or a complete newbie. Exoto are one of the premium brands, although the prices tend to match. Just about anyone who has owned or even seen an Exoto agrees that they makes high quality models. Ask a few people on this forum who own Exotos for their opinion. Then feel free to make an informed opinion...

Come on NatesV8s,u can't say that CC don't make quality 1:43's and 1:18's?
The only thing that bugs me about them is the fact that they churn out a ton of V8supercars but ignore bathurst winners.(1993,95,97 and 98 spring to mind)
In 10-20 years time, who is going to remember who won the championship in this era?Bet the same people(me included) will still be able to name all the Bathurst winners.

If CC make better 1:64's, then I'll be happy.

Visit www.exoto.com, then stop off at www.cmc-modelcars.de if you are at all a serious collector. Nothing really comes close to these, althought AUTOart Millenium Editions are fantastic for the price.

Are you joking, what do you do if you want a full grid of V8 supercars.

If CC really said this, I'm shocked and appaulled. :o

Would it still stop you from buying it? Some people still collect Matchbox and Hotwheels even though that's well and truly for kids.

Good point, but why make them in plastic display cases (that are extremely hard to remove)?

NatesV8s

and charge $11.95 for them.

I like the fact that 1:64 and 1:43's come in cases. That way ,u can display them without them getting dusty.
I only open the cases once after buying just to check the model out and this is where the CC cases drive me insane!!!
Gan88 - very true,I will still buy them:)

Mate, I have no problem with the cases, but if the 1:64 CC's are directed at children, why not make them in the same packaging like matchbox?????

These are just a few of the exoto f1 models I have. They are brilliant quality and worth their cost in my opinion.

Ive never seen Classic post anything about 1/64th car being directed at kids and most of you know I spend a great deal of time on the Classic forum.

As for you "NatesV8s" you might as well collect matchbox cars if you think exoto is so lowly rated to be behind classic, its obvious that your never seen a exoto car first hand because you wouldn't have made such stupid comments.

Wayno,

You have some very fine examples of the exoto cars, I myself have 2 Sauber/mercedes and a GT 40, the Saubers far outway in quality anything that Biante or Classic have produced to date.

You hit the nail on the head there:D

But, I think I might be mistaken about the Exoto models, I'm thinking of another brand. I'll get back to you on that.

Biante is directed at adults. If Classic are aiming the 1/64's at children, why are they charging a high price. Parents aren't going to pay $11.95 for a small little car, they'll go for a mathbox or something that is below $6.00.

Classic 1/64th cars are not directed at children, do yourself a favor and go in and look at thier latest offerings and post what you get for your $11.95

NatesV8

CC made those cheaper 1:64s and have now after sometime released better quality 1:64s.

There is a price difference between the Biante & CC 1:64's, basically you pay for what you get.

More details equals more money

I don't think CC have aimed their 1:64th at Children. Why would they go to all the trouble of presenting them in this same sort of hard plastic case as Biante if you were to buy the model then throw the hard plastic case away.

If they are directed at children and children buy them and remove them from their case and play with them it will make the rest that people actually collect and keep in MIB condition all the more valuable down the track, just as the early toys such as Matchbox etc IN MIB are worth today. Lets face it Matchbox and other so called companies haven't got the V8 Supercar range to make and sell .

From the few lately released CC 1:64th I have seen it looks as though just as much time and efforts has gone into making them as Biante have gone too.

IF and I say IF these models are directed at children that doesn't make them any cheaper to produce. You still got the same tooling cost and all. So why is there such a huge price difference between the two 1:64th scale models????

Geez, it's realy good to have you back, Steve.... If you read back a few more posts then you will realise that someone told nates they were aimed at children..

Nates, we aren't all like that... thats why if you go to the other forum they are asking themselves why they don't have as many posts/members there. You should have seen the welcome I got there a while back.

I know what I said was wrong and I'm sorry. But, why do you make me look like what I'm saying is wrong, I didn't say that CC 1/64's are directed at kids, thats what another forumer is saying thats what 'he' heard and I'm just telling him my veiws on the subject. I was telling that forumer that how can CC 1/64's be for kids when they are exactly like Biante Minicars and that they are practically the same price as Biante Minicars and the same packaging, as Matchbox and all the other 'kiddy' brands have easier openings and are cheaper.

My comments are solely directed at your comments regarding Steve and other forum members. Healthy deabte is one thing- but you took it slightly too far. I have no problems w/ your comments regarding your opinion on classics 1/64 scale cars. Personally I disagree but have not stated anything saying you are wrong for believing what you believe.

While what Steve said could have been more politely directed, he did put a speil at the front and didn't use abusive language like you did- I am merely trying to help you before some other forum members make thing sdifficult- As I said in another thread ask Dwarfs about getting dumped on for not listening or respecting the long time forum members

If I have to waste another 30 minutes playing school teacher to some of you, I will take the fast option and delete the whole thread. This will lose some valuyable input unfortunately, but will be quicker and more effective.
I suggest some of you type your comments and then read them as if they are directed at yourselves before you push the button.
If you said some of the things face to face, you'd get thumped!!
If it happens again, the perpertator and ANYONE who retaliates will get banned. OK??
