Just interested in the mark skaife vt series 2 black gts as my COA. has been signed by the man himself

the thing is I've never met him and my model was bought ''supposedly'' brand new

just wondering if anybody else is in the same HSV(boat)?

and how many were released like this?

None were supplied with a signed certificate.

Model probablly was brand new.
It's easy to take a certificate out of the box & to the track & get it signed.
Rather the certificate signed than the actual model as i reckon the model being signed wrecks them.

can you tell me which MODEL SHOP allows you to walk in and take a COA. out of the box and then take it to the track to get signed

then return the COA. back in the box for someone else to purchase the model from that shop cause i'm pretty sure GATEWAY MODELS don't allow this as that is were i bought the model from

and to my knowledge gateway also do buy and sell models..

if Im correct then your model was previously owned by someone else who had the COA signed... then sold to you..

Ummm, so why don't you email, phone, go and ask the people at Gateway Models?

Something like...

My Skaife GTS that I bought from you had a signed COA. Biante inform me that none of the COA's were signed. Did you have it signed, is the model second hand yada yada yada...

Really, anything you get on here (apart from Richards comment above) is only going to be speculation...so go to the source...(and when you find out, let us know, becuase I'm curious too).

Cheers

Geez, the last thing I'd be doing is whingeing about it!
Gateway most certainly do buy and sell. From memory all the cars (new or pre-loved (I can't stand the word "used" in relation to die-casts!)) are listed in the same sections with no mention as to if it's either.

wayno im not WHINGEING .............. im trying to find out some info on it if anything im happy because my model has been ''customised'' :D

lcfp2297 i might just do that

also i don't want to place any ''bad media'' on GATEWAY MODELS as he has been an excellent source for my die cast fetish and that is were i have purchased most of my models from

Ok, point taken. It just sounded like it to me. Ask Gateway, but I think the reason I gave in my first post would probably be the right answer.

can someone tell me how to get to Gateway?

I tried a few months back but couldnt find them??

Also I know a few model places will take the COA's to the track themselves to have autographed, although this is usually to help sell the car, especially if their selling slowly or not at all ... display it with the COA as autographed by the driver and you'll find its got a bit more buying power then it did before.

Although it sounds like yours might be a pre owned thing as mentioned already

I think its 238 Tingal Rd Wynnum, It had Wynnum Battries sign on the the outside shelter of the building, There is an old style general store next door to it.

When you drive past during opening hours there are always heaps of boxes outside the front door. So if you want a free model just walkup grab a box and run !!!! :D

But in all seriousness it a hard place to find if you dont know your way around, if anyone is coming up and needs a hand to find the place send me a PM as i live 5 mins around the corner.

I go to Gateway pretty much every time I'm in Brisbane. I could spend a LOT of time scrounging through the many piles of models there!
A mate aked me recently what the store looked like inside. The best description I could come up with was "downtown Baghdad"! :D There is stuff EVERYWHERE!
Great place to visit (and purchase from) though. ;)
