Had an email from my model shop motorfocus (http://www.motorfocus.com.au) about these new figurines that are coming out heres some blurb from Dimitri's email:

This new item is a quality "life like" figurine that will sit along side any valuable and memorable collections. The new item will expand the collector's range of die cast model cars, framed memoribillia and personal collectables.

The first product launch involves V8 Supercar champion and crowd favourite Craig Lowndes. This product, officially endorsed and licensed by the Craig Lowndes Corporation and Team Betta Electrical, is the beginning of an innovative product range. The Craig Lowndes Figurine is individually hand painted, with high gloss decals applied.

Each figurine includes an individually numbered Certificate of Authenticity.

Each figurine is protected in a moulded polystyrene package and comes complete with a Certificate of Authenticity. Each Figurine is packaged in a full color cardboard box for retail presentation. The retail box is placed into a white outer box for protection in transit.

Product: CNC 1001
Craig Lowndes Team Betta Electrical 2005

Composition:
50% polyresin/ 50% stone powder.

Height:
Approx 32cm

Weight:
Approx 1.8 kg

We expect deliveries to commence in late September in readiness for the V8 Supercar Bathurst Round and the all important upcoming Christmas sales

The R.R.P of the Craig Lowndes 2005 Team Betta Electrical figurine is $165.00.

Other Champions and Collectables figurines will follow in 2006, stay tuned!

I believe these can be pre-ordered at Motorfocus, and NO I'm not a partner in this business :p BTW these are NOT from CC but the cert looks like it.

These could be pretty good although I am not that keen on the $165 price tag!
Thay may have to have special larger sized packaging for some drivers though e.g To fit Skaifey's nose and Ambrose's head:D

I've already pre-ordered mine.

This will look fantastic next to the 2003, 2004 and 2005 cars, especially the EC winner. It's a pity that it doesn't have a signature for $165.

Does anybody know more info on the manufacturer?

I certainly hope they make ones for DJ, Marcos, and Moffat.

32cm tall is huge. They might not fit in a lot of cabinets.

This does look good but the price tag would probably put me off though.

This gives me an idea though, what about GI Joe or Star Wars style V8 Supercar driver action figures ??:p

Not so crazy an idea Spoonster, maybe u could 'code3' a Yoda into a Bargwanna as they are both short and ugly.:D

Chewie could be john bowe and Anakin could be Lowndes (from the good side to the dark side :p )

Marcos Ambrose could be based on the Gollum/Smeagol Lord Of The Rings figurine with the good and evil interchangeable heads, depending on his behaviour :D :p

And what about Larry Perkins based on C3-P0...

Freaky looking... You would expect it to start talking to you it looks so life like...

So all of the people that are against the 'Elise' figurine -- will you get one of these ???

$165 seems a bit rich and is this about a 1 : 5.6875 scale??? 32cm=182cm (which is how tall Craig is -http://www.craiglowndes.com.au/content/facts.htm)

Thet do look very real don't they.

I am guessing that they are 1:6 scale when you take the base into consideration.

I would prefer to see more of the 1/18 scale figurines made. They look so good standing next to the cars!

Looks good but will look a bit large standing next to a 1/18 car sort of like land of the giants
