Have we started our own factory in Perth?

Are they tired of tapping computer keyboards?

Is this how they fill their lunch times and tea breaks?

We do not test our products on animals?

A prize to the best comment.

1. Having experienced all the problems possible at their China factory Biante WILL be opening a factory at Perth. However, due to building delays caused by JOhn Howard's IR reforms completion is set at around 2007 before the next federal election. In the mean-time Biante are hiring the International Space Station to cover production, expected problems include, power and staff shortages, unexpected stock jetison and Glen in a space suit singing Fly Me To The Moon

A sneak peek of the new Biante facility:

So if there is a picture to come, what are all the replies about? No wonder I'm confused! It reminds me of a card game I was having with 2 mates in Beijing Railway Station. A big crowd of Chinese gathered round to watch, and so we started playing a completely made up game, with one of us having 20 cards, one 3 and the other holding his back to front etc. We made it as silly as we could, making odd noises as we threw cards in the middle, tucking cards behind our ears etc, and even so some of the crowd thought they'd figured it and were trying to make helpful suggestions for the next move etc!

Well there was also a computer monitor, telephone, a Biante calendar, a desk, staff wearing team gear, so choose the product.
You did not pick the trademark 'coke' can that appears wherever John is, in the first pic.

The product placement was the model or parts thereof. :)

ah ha, yes but I'm just telling you what I saw or stuck out the most, square on in the pic. oh and the car but product placement is dependant on the viewer (me) knowing the logo and it stands out, the car was "just another white car to me" missed the coke as it is not in the foreground

AND THE WINNER IS - Kiwiracing - for the above.

It was a diffucult one with references to ikea, chinese factories, painting by numbers, but we let the guys who built them have the casting vote and having been 'at the coalface' they went for this one.

If kiwiracing would like to send us his delivery address for air courier (bev@biante.com.au) we will send you one of these models (complete with the foreign instructions)

Enjoy and thanks to everyone who made this a fun thread.

My 4yro son was walking around all this morning with the box in his arms, saying c'mon dad can we "change" it. So I know what we will be doing over the weekend.

These make code 3 models easy:D Well apart from the Japanese instructions and writing all over the box, haven't actually opened it as yet, will keep you posted on our efforts.

We got a surprise in the mail yesterday. Bev sent me one in place of the "cupie" doll promised in the "Biante" thread.
First of all, thanks go to the team at Biante for the prize. I thought the promise of a "cupie" doll was put across as "Give the man a cigar" and I wasn't expecting an actual prize so it was a nice surprise to pick up a parcel that had the Biante tape on it.

As soon as my boys saw it we had to open the box and give it a go. It's a good concept and is a bit more involved than I thought (It put the photo in perspective, for sure). We lowered it "to the weeds" and cambered the baby to the extreme. My oldest added the woodgraining and the youngest has been busy jamming the spares in and out of the car.

The car is tough enough for the kids to swap bits around and push it on the floor so theres no aggro trying to keep them from having some fun, thats a real bonus.

So now the kids have a Fully sick Lexus that they can be proud of and dad is cool for a day or two..

As for adults, its not something I will collect as I only collect "Aussie" cars and have no 1:24's so it's hard for me to comment on the overall detail compared to other 1:24 cars but it looks like a decent specimen for under 40 bucks (I assume). the lexus is also a bit more reserved than the Nissans in the model showroom, too.

Thanks a lot, Bev. The Kid's love it and now thats she's been Kitted, lowered and tuned, it will be proudly displayed as the Kids' first Die cast car in their room and has already raised their understanding of "Dads toy cars"
