Hey all,

Just picked up this minute the new Chevron release 'Commodore, the early Bathurst years 1980-83' DVD.

An absolute gold mine of amazing cinema/documentary type footage much like the previous Torana releases.

I've only had a quick look at the disc on my PC here at work, but already it looks great.... Brock and Harves hosts the DVD (harves even got on his MHDT jacket)!

Highly recommened for anyone interested in Bathust/Group C.

Cheers,

Paul.

It is a good release isn't it!

I got it about two weeks ago from Big W, fantastic footage, it really catches the moments, especially when hitting the Gemini in 1980, and the car swap in 1983.

And it's not co-hosted by John Harvey, it's 'dual Bathurst winner' John Harvey remember ;)

The SLR dvd has a cinema/documentary of the '74 Man-Champ rounds, love the commentry on this one, real 70's type stuff, cracks me up every time i watch it!..and bathurst '75 & '76

Good stuff, glad i could help. I bought the xu1 and slr for $30 each from the shops as they come out, but i thought i'd be smart and see if i could snag a cheap a9x of ebay (but no luck yet) and now its just as cheap to buy the pack, always the way isn't.

I enjoyed the video immensely. Some nice rare footage in there. Probably the rarest bit was Mike Raymond in the Channel 7 commentary box with his mouth SHUT!

and for those of you with the a9x dvd, how funny is the commercial for the road car at the end?

A mate of mine has an EXACT car just like it. Same colour, the stripe, hubcaps, even the Hatch Hutch!

He bought it off an old lady who had it stored in her garage the last 10 years!

I'm Glad Chevron has continued the series to the Commodore. Look forward to the next one...the VK!

After reading this thread, I'm seriously thinking of getting that Torana 3 pack off ebay.
Might get the Commodore one when I'm in Sydney in December if it hasn't reached NZ by then.:)

There won't be one on the VK, or any others after that.

The Holden films only went as far as 1983.

I orderd it last week, this morning I received a phone all that my DVD was in stock, raced into town (quite literally) to find that it was the complete wrong item " Road Warriors and Evos" ...a very bad day as the chick backed into an HSV GTO (of course it wouldn't be a Minor something cheap would it?) in the SS and busted that good and proper.
