I hope if Cortinas are released there'll be a Jane/Firth #20 63 Bathurst champ or Jane Reynolds 64 champ or Seton/Bosworth 65 GT500.

The price is high in no small part because of the special head on top of the engine and the small number of real cortina's GT made.

question - so if you find a cortina GT cheap, its probable not a real GT cortina then? coz theres one im looking at but its only bout $7300 or something like that.....

There is here in Perth one that looks like one but the head is of a corrola and they casted the rockercover specialy plus did something with the distributor to put it also in the correct place but it is and was a conjob of the first order
Buyer beware:mad:
so ,yes be VERY wary if you have to pay big money for a suposable origional one
these cars are almost always tinkered with as the age and the purpose of these was to cane them. :D

The genuine Lotus Cortinas have a special alloy twin-cam head from Lotus, and if a car doesn't have one then it isn't a Lotus, whatever the seller might claim! So that's where the premium on the price comes in - Lotus connection, rarity, and the fact that they were raced so successfully by people like Jim Clark in the UK. The engine then went on to be fitted in the Mk1 Ford Escort shell, to produce the Escort "Twin Cam", which goes for nearly $28,000 for a minter!
