Must be time for a poll - we have all seen threads about your fav list of BIANTE cars, how about narrowing it down to see what type people collect?
Street Cars, Race Cars or Both.
I go for the race liveries :D

I'm a race car collector and can barely afford it as it is.

I'm primarily into the V8 Supercars ; I'm happy to collect Ford and Holden models but have no interest in the VT road cars, or the plethora of Monaro models.
Conversely, I have the classic L34 and A9X roadgoing Toranas, but haven't bothered with the "forgotten" Brock racing Torries that have been produced thus far.
I haven't purchased any of the older Ford road or racing machines, however I've got my dibs in for Moffat's XC Twin Set .
So, I suppose I'm one who goes both ways!!
I try to collect most of the race cars, and will generally try to get at least one colour of each road car.

No V8 Supercars for me, except where they are a Bathurst Winner. I prefer, in Biante, any of the Bathurst Winning vehicles, and anything that specifically 'catches my eye' - the two Johnson Falcons for instance. Other than that, road cars work well for me - old XY's and XW's, and the two VT Commodore roadcars too. Sadly, no road car Torana's yet. Of course, the Skyline GT-R race cars.....
Other than that, WRCars and Toyota Formula One works for me!
Then there is the 1:43....
I like to maintain a balance of road and race car. It is prohibitively expensive to do so, but better that now, than paying through the nose in the future for all those cars "I should have got when I had the chance." Better now than regrets later.

I buy both race and road cars. I basically get all Holdens & Ford road cars in 1/18. Plus the Skaife skyline. When it comes to Ford race cars, I only select what I really want.

I collect all holdens, race and road.
What i would PREFER is:
a) only the higher profile race teams
b) limited colour availability for the roads cars, or, spread the colour range out over many years (eg: two or three different colour releases for each model shape)
c) more variety.
d) less repitition (eg:i feel the HRT team was overdone. eg:i feel having a Red HSV GTS and a Red HSV Clubsport is repitition)
e) more regular, evenly spaced, model releases.
We have the VL, LJ/C and XA/B/C shapes done, lets spread some of those in between the other models and get a bit of variety.
Just an opinion....

I have only been collecting STREET cars for a few reasons,
(a) I like them better
(b) There are less of them making it more affordable
(c) Every year Biante/Autoart will try to produce race versions of the current teams in their new livery's. Collecting all of them would be overkill
(d) Muscle cars of the 60's 70's and 80's will never return with the exception of the odd HSV, Monaro and new GT
Cant wait cars like the XRGT, XTGT, XAGT, HK-HT-HG Monaro's, E-38, E-49 Pacers and Chargers,HQ Monaro's etc.
Speaking of Monaro's ADMIN, when is the HG going to be released and in what colours will the HK-HT-HG range be produced?

I aggree with CLEVELAND on this subject as it would be too difficult for me to even have that many models in my display case!
I love the road cars because I can relate to them as I have aspired to own a few of them in my time, where as I have never had any contact with for eg. BROCKS A9x as I was too young back then.
re the HK-T-Gs admin please make me a Verado green HT and either/or Warwick yellow HK......

My fav's
1:43
Falcon V8 super cars as well as road cars
Subaru World Rally Team Cars
1:18
Dick Johnson Collection
Special road cars such as the CV8 Monaro, GTHO's,
&
Subaru WRX Road Cars
I try to buy one model of a particular type in the 1:18 scale due to their cost.
As for the 1:43 i'm a bit more generious as i'll get the race car and a couple of selected colours of the road versions.
Now if i can just win lotto to pay for my collection,
Cheers.

XW - XY, road and race.
Cobolt Blue EDXR6 if they ever make one, as i own one. (hint, hint)
All DJR V8 Supercars, no other FORD teams.
NO holdens at all. ( although i may have to get the one Moffat drove with Brock at bathurst.):D

I'll always get at least one example of any road car I like (and it's the road cars I prefer), in a good colour, plus any race version(s) that has a great-looking livery. I'm afraid looks come first, so I won't bother with a famous car if it has a poor colour scheme, whereas a back-marker with a cracking paint job would get a look-in! Still waiting for AutoArt to bring out the Group B cars, especially the 200-off road versions...

I'm fairly lucky in that i can afford all of the 1/64 cars, all of the 1/43 cars road and street, and i have most of the 1/18 cars ford and holden (plus 1 Nissan). As i have all of the race cars released so far in 1/43 i dont see the need to collect them in 1/18 as well unless they are Bathurst winners, ATCC winners or part of a collection (DJR's last Bathurst drive in 1/18 is still available from Biante!!).
I have a mate who is a cabinet maker and he is in the process of making me my 2nd and 3rd display cabinets.
Living on baked beans to afford all of this does get a bit monotonous though.
Keep up the good work Biante crew and enjoy Bathurst.
Happy collector
