In all seriousness, who is Holden kidding trying to sell the line the Monaro is disappearing? What company in any level or type of business would stop selling a product that it can't make enough of?

AS IF!

I reckon, considering the compliance problems Holden had with converting the Monaro for Pontiac sales in the US (i.e. moving the fuel tank into the boot!), and that far more Monaros are sold overseas than here, that Pontiac is taking over the production of the car.

Give it a year or two (maybe less if Pontiac doesn't want to lose sales), but before you know it we'll see "It's BACK" advertising, more AC/DC and tornadoes as Holden announces the new Monaro, which will be an imported, rebadged version of the GTO.

The Monaro is dead long live the new Camaro, built on the same platform as the new Commodore watch for it to be in Aus from late 07 early 08.

While yeah I doubt it will be the last Monaro ever. right now it doesn't make good business sense, they make what 2,000 right hook Monaro/HSV Coupes and over 15,000 Left hook GTO/Chevy SS Coupes, It would cost too much move production to US as the current get will only last about 2 more years. its not like the Monaro is the only car being dropped from the line up, the Adventra/Avalance, 1 Tonner are gone and the Vectra name will soon be gone aswell

They are still making Adventra V6...its only the Adventra V8 that has been dropped so far;)

If the S3X takes off, I'm sure they'll dump the Adventra V6...

Cheers

I remember reading somewhere that China were going to take over production of the GTO for the American market in the next 18 months or so.......

Bearing this in mind, I wonder if our next Monaro will be fully imported ???

cheers. :)
