Auto Action No 1177 February 15-21 2006.
Here is some Tit Bits out of the AA this Month:
Ingall re-signed with Ford until 2008.
Lowndes re-signed with Ford until at least the end of 2009.
Holden's plans for a V8 Supercar version of the VE Commodore have been jeopardised By Fords opposition to the proposed switch to a common control chassis. According to industry experts, Holden needs the move for the VE to comply with the V8 rules. The distance between the front and rear axle is 2822mm , too big for V8 rules.
Tasman Motorsport executives are not best pleased with HRT for poaching its primary support, nor with Holden for countenancing the raid.
Bright to resurrect his international motorsport career as part of Prodrives Aston Martin Racing Le Mans team.
Glen Seatons name has been links with the purchase of one of Allan Grices two V8 Utes franchises.
Hearing that Ford is reducing its financial support for DJR and BJR to bolster its backing of SBR,Triple Eight and FPR .This allows Ford to maintain funding for its front-running V8 teams, assisted with the merger of Larkham Motorsports and WPS Racing.
Scratch Jeff Grech from the list of candidates to replace Dean Orr at DJR. Grech was DJR top pick to take over management of its revamped operations. But insiders claim Tom Walkinshaw is holding Grech to his long term contract as operations manager of TW/PG (formerly Holden Motorsport).

Goodness me !!
My first impression when seeing the thread title was one of "here we go, the Babewatch gallery must be impressive this month".
Looks like we're looking at tidbits as opposed to naughty bits.

The word was always "titbit" (single word), but the Americans, with their sensitivity to vulgarity, changed it to "tidbit"....

How very Puritan of them, considering their stance on the right to bear arms...

 It's funny that Ford are all against Holden running with slightly longer wheel base with the VE,as was'nt it the BA Ford that was allowed to run a chassis that was deemed to long as per rules, they whinged and got the rule changed.I dont know how long the VE is but surley it can't be that much too long that they(Ford)think they will be at a disadvantage.
Maybe scared Holden will win the championship this year(I hope:) )
Also on this subject of parity etc Ford wanting to remove the bonnet buldge and change rear wing WHY???? Is'nt the championship close now,and you can't say that there not equal at Bathurst(bar wins:) ) as the qualifing times is a mix of Ford and Holden. My Dad taught me a good lesson as a child IF IT'S NOT BROCKEN DON'T TOUCH IT:)

According to the article in Auto Action, (of which I didn't want to have to copy the whole story) Ford were not "against Holden running a slighly longer wheelbase" as you put it. I think you'll find Project Blueprint is the main thing against Holden longer wheelbase, that why Holden need the change to the common chassis.
Ford are against the Idea of running the so-called control chassis that TEGA is trying to bring into the V8 Supercar series, (apparently a cost cutting measure). Ford wants to continue to run with the basic Ford Falcon platform. So that it still had some similarity with what Ford sold as a road car. Not some "bolt your shell onto a common platfrom " as they do in Nascar.
As for the bonnet bulge on the Ford. If the Road car has a bulge that so the race car should . The only way they can change it is if Ford remove the Bonnett Bulge from their Road going GT XR8. Doubt thats going to happen.

From what I have read one of the big reasons why Holden is so into the whole common chassis idea is not only because of the difference in wheel base from road car to project blue print specs but the VE is designed to very strict safety guidelines meaning the road going chassis is simply not suitable for car racing
