Gee Stewart where have you been ???

This announcement was made a long time ago :D !!!

So you'd also be happy to hear that they're also helping out Marcos Ambrose in his assault on the Craftsman truck series too :D !!!

ps don't you think Not Happy Jeld would have been a much better name for this thread LOL :D :D !!!

I was/am a ticked of HRT supporter when I saw the Dodo sponsor appear on the Commodores this year. I really hate the company and think it rips off its customers by offering 'cheap' internet. But in a way you should be happy that there are companies, whether they are as pathetic as Dodo or that they sponsor the opposite team, as they are vital to the existance of v8 racing. Maybe like Toll, Supercheap auto & Betta Electical (for a year) and now Pirtek, Geldwen may jump ship to Holden.

I may be missing something, but I thought cheap prices were the opposite to rip-off???

Maybe they mean it's a cheap deal until you forget to read the fine print.....

For example

$9.90 per/mth broadband (256k), but you only get 70mb & extra usage is charged at 18c/mb until & is caped to $69.90 :eek:cheers :D

brchi17 made my point. I though the quotation marks did enough to show it, but thanks mate.

Dodo is quite expensive compared to other internet companies. I have a 300 meg broadband plan for 24.95 on primus and that works out to being over 8 cents per meg, and that is still one of Primus's more expensive packages. On dodo you are paying over 14 cents per meg on the plan Brchi17 mentioned. But because its advertised as $9.90 that is made to look cheap.

How much per meg after 300 meg?

Agreed, dodo do use the cheap monthly fee to get people in & I must admit it was only when I read their fine print did I know the whole truth & steer clear as their ads do sound too good to be true & in my opinion I believe they are.

I don't want to sound rude but your primus account seems rather dear (yes I know you said it wasn't the cheapest) as I'm on a AAPT 512k 12G plan for $34.95/month & after I've downloaded 12G it simply slows down to 64k no more to pay :D

For a better deal on broadband (there are even better ones out there than what I am on) I'd try here http://bc.whirlpool.net.au/

cheers. :)

They all have a catch somewhere...For internet alone, and for what you've described, DoDo would be cheaper for me (it's a rare month that I go over 50MB).

In this day and age, if people don't read the fine-print/terms and conditions, then its there own fault...

Telstra is a different story...I've come to the conclusion that they won't give you the terms and conditions for which you sign up without a court order!

Cheers

Don't forget the intangible user ratio as well, a deal may sound great with low monthly recurring and low or no data charge but, it ain’t worth much if they have a high user ratio per given piece of bandwidth, you can end up with performance not much better than dial-up. The only way to avoid this is a plan with guaranteed minimum bandwidth but, even then, it would be pretty hard to prove!

speaking of fine print..

has anyone ever noticed how the fine print on alot of websites is actually formated in such a way and uses so much legalese etc etc to make it almost another language..

I was reading optus' fine print about that new wireless service they are flogging... (super expensive dial up if anyone is interested) and the fine print on there is in a tiny font, grammer is almost out the window... there's no separation of paragraph's or different points....

I reckon Telstra run things on a "biggest rip off possible" style of management. I really have no respect for them in any way shape or form, and the only reason I have my phone t hrough them is because I cant afford the payout fee to get out of my contract. But I tell ya, when the itme comes, am I looking forward to it!

How much per meg after 300 meg?

its 15 cent a meg and then the plan is capped at $70.00 without speed reduction!

I got my plan last august and there are far better on the market with primus. I don't pay the bills at my house, i am a poor uni student! I got my modem free and also get 50 free local calls a month, plus line rental and net for bout $55 a month. I am not a huge user of the net so the plan suits us well.

I would recommend primus to ne1 if u r prepared to wait 20 mins on the phone to be served. The support is pathetic but product is fantastic.
