I think it's done great things for the sport, but with AUSKICK sweeping throughout regional Australia, traditionall soccer's breeding ground, it doesn't look good for the future, unless they go big-money and attract some better talent. At the moment, A-League's standards are pretty poor compared to what soccer fans watch on TV.

Where's the "who cares about football" option?

Its created a bit of structure and stability, which the series needed.
A few critisisms:
SBS - Soccer Broadcating Society covers Europe soccer then Aus soccer, so what does that say about the game in Aus?
Calling the Sport football and naming it A-league just mimics the world soccer leagues. What about keeping it soccer to distinguish from whats most aussies think football is and giving it a name like Australia Soccer Championship series that is so not so mainstream.

I think it's helped the game a lot in Australia.
One of my former housemates got comp tickets to one of the early season Melbourne Victory games and ended up going to every home game, buying the merchandise, etc despite not being into soccer before then.
Unfortunately I still can't entice her to attend motorsport though..

Must be very successful if the non-soccer followers such as myself have no idea what A-League refers to!
I don't follow NRL or ARL, but their names tell me exactly what the sport is!
I'm tipping the current crowds/success are just riding of the World Cup qualification success...Once we join the Asian League, and the normal team is playing (not our super team that all live and play in Europe), then the interest will wane...
I would have ticked "Whats the A-League", but I don't necessarily think "AFL is REAL football"...there are many different codes of football, all have their pros and cons...

I suggest that the Knights are going to be paying good odds to win next year...along with the Breakers and the Warriors, get your bets on now gentlemen.

Depends where you live as to what code you call "KING". ;)
