Hi guys

I realise this is not the best place for this ...but, I'm after a set of these wheels, does anyone have them lying around?

Thank you all for your overwhelming feedback about these;) , I think I have a set from Qld, anyone coming to the Shaky Isles and keen to bring them as baggage? Does anyone have any informed opinion about freight costs...would they weigh 10kg each?

I would have thought without rubber they would be 5KG each max! I guess it depends on the construction:confused:

thank you, I might jump onto DHL and see what it is going to cost

you could even look into sending them Australia post,if they have no tyres on them they would fit into individual box's and Aust post will then charge per cubic measurment rather than weight, may be worth looking into.

Just had a call from the guy..seems like they were advertised over a year ago but only just appeared on the forum...so it's back to square one

are you after 16X8 or 16x7?

MarkHM

16x7, can't afford the 16x8 variety. That was me that started the thread in the Group3 forum, looking all over the place for these wheels.

What are you putting them onto Mark?

I just bought a VU ute (3.8) and it's currently on the world's worst wheels...Should be a bit cheaper to run than the 5.7 (that's going to sit in the garage for weekend use). Thinking about LPG for the ute

Wouldn't it be easier and cheaper to get some 17's off TradeMe??

Well, kit's on 16's now and I sold my spare set of Star wheels a few years ago (still annoys me) when I got an SS (on 17's). The Stars have been largely redundant up until now, but I want a set now

its an expensive option but rare spares advertise them on-line at 700 a corner.
not sure wether there still avaiable or they just there for show?

Yes they are dear but fully reconditioned anbd lacquered. They've sold out at the moment but have a 6 week order period...Not sure if I want to pay that much though. Thanks

Yes they are thanks, I saw that auction yesterday and will see what happens with bidding. There were some centre caps and nuts on e-bay last week (bugger) now I'll have to start searching the globe for them as well

You will need to purchase the centre lens(HDT), Backing plate, spring clip, and the nut, I had all these stolen from my VL a few years back, it was going to cost me in the vicinity of $800 dollars to replace the lot with new ones so I bought the lenses, clips and backing plates and one nut, I made up another 4 from Aluminium on the lathe and mill at work so maybe you could find one and get a price to have some made up at a machine shop maybe cheaper ?
All these were available from riverwood spares in Sydney a few years ago, they were the official HDT supplier in Australia back then.
